Kyoto

Konkai-Komyoji Temple, which became the headquarters of the Kyoto Shugoshoku (Aizu Domain) during the late Edo period, is a temple with ties to the Shinsengumi. It is the temple where Honen Shonin (Jodo sect) first chanted the Nembutsu, and as the first Jodo sect temple, it is also said to be the birthplace of Nembutsu.
