In the morning, a professional driver/guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Wuzhen, a 1300-year-old water town in Jiangnan. Upon arrival, you will stroll along the waterways of the ancient town, experiencing the poetic scenery of "small bridges, flowing water, and traditional houses." The white-walled, black-tiled Ming and Qing dynasty buildings are reflected in the clear water, and ancient workshops line the river, exuding a tranquil and elegant water town charm. The guide will explain the historical origins and cultural customs of Wuzhen as one of the six ancient towns of Jiangnan (the itinerary does not include a boat tour in Wuzhen).
In the afternoon, you are free to explore the narrow cobblestone alleys and uniquely shaped stone arch bridges, experiencing the tranquil beauty where time seems to stand still. Afterwards, we will travel to Xitang Ancient Town, a place with over 2000 years of history. It is renowned for its well-preserved Ming and Qing dynasty architecture and its intricate network of waterways. After the tour, a private car will take you back to your hotel in downtown Shanghai.
