Seat booking:
Most trains within Switzerland do not require advance seat reservations. Passengers only need to carry the confirmation with the QR code to board and freely choose a seat within their pass's class. When taking scenic trains, advance seat reservations are required, such as for the Bernina Express, Glacier Express, and Gotthard Panorama Express.
Trains that require advance seat reservations are usually in high demand, especially during peak tourist seasons (particularly in July/August), so we recommend booking as early as possible.

- Flexible
The expiration date is automatically calculated starting from the first usage date selected at the time of purchase. Within this validity period, you can choose the usage date that needs to be activated.
The PDF file attached to the confirmation email for your Swiss Travel Pass booking serves only as a purchase receipt, not as a valid travel ticket.
Passengers must activate their desired travel date on the official website before their first trip. Each activated travel date will generate a corresponding valid ticket. When boarding, passengers can present this valid ticket to the conductor either via mobile device or printed paper version.
Q: What could be the reason for the activation failure?
A:
1. Please check if the surname and given name are in the wrong order. First Name is the given name, Last Name is the surname.
2. For birthdays, tap the calendar icon to select directly. The format is month/day/year (mm/dd/yyyy).
3. If none of the above solutions work, please contact customer support.

How to buy First Class and Second Class seats?
If you're traveling with children (under 15 years old), buying a first-class seat is a good deal!
Reason: Children travel for free, and first-class seats are more spacious with fewer people, making them more comfortable. Additionally, for example, the first-class cabins on Lake Lucerne cruises are located on the upper deck, which is less crowded and offers a better experience!
1st class seat:
1) First class carriages offer greater comfort: wider seats, more legroom, and power outlets. Additionally, first class passengers can enjoy the comfort of quiet and business zones. Passengers can also choose first class when taking a Swiss cruise. First class is usually located on the upper deck, offering a more open view for enjoying the surrounding scenery.
2) Depending on the train and route, some may also include meal service.
- Please note that while most trains offer first-class seating, urban transport options such as cogwheel trains, cable cars, buses, and trams do not provide first-class seating.

Second Class:
- Although relatively small, it still offers comfortable seating and ample legroom. Second class tickets are usually cheaper than first class, but passengers can still enjoy a good travel experience.
Please note that the specific first-class seat configurations may vary depending on the train type, carriage type, and operator. For more detailed information, we recommend checking the official website of Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) or contacting the relevant train operator.
