Chiang Rai Mae Khachan Hot Spring is a natural hot spring. According to the elders in Pong Nam Ron village, in the past, there was no village here, only pristine forest, and the area was called Pong Din. Animals of all sizes would frequently come down to eat salt and lick the ground. The hot spring area also served as a route for merchants traveling between Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. Using oxen and horses as transportation along the mountainside, it was considered an overnight stop because the location was spacious, convenient, and featured natural hot springs.
The highlight of Wat Rong Khun - White Temple in Chiang Rai is its white-decorated chapel floor adorned with captivating glasswork, creating a beautiful and unusual sight. The stucco features Thai-style patterns. Particularly remarkable are the principal Buddha image and the northern Buddha image, decorated with mythical half-elephant, half-bird creatures, presenting an exceptionally beautiful appearance. The murals inside the chapel are original paintings by Ajarn Chalermchai Kositpipat himself.
Rong Suea Ten Temple This property has been renovated. The creative work comes from Ajarn Nok (Mr. Phutta Kapkaew) or Sala Nok, a reunion of local Chiang Rai artists and villagers of Rong Suea Ten. The construction of a temple hall showcases contemporary Buddhist art that embodies the hidden teachings of Buddha. The temple walls feature deep blue and blue hues, creating a serene and cool atmosphere, complemented by intricate wall patterns in white and gold tones. The flowing design resembles a river, making it stand out from other temples with its unusual color palette. This concept aims to encourage Buddhists to return to the temple to study Buddha's teachings and apply them in daily life.
Chiang Rai Golden Triangle is the border area between Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar, located at the confluence of the Ruak and Mekong Rivers. The term "Golden Triangle" was coined by the CIA to describe the overlapping region of these three countries.
