Ananuri was the castle of the feudal monarch Duke Aragov. In 1739, Ananuri, under the command of Ksani, was attacked by the hostile principality Shamshe. The troops attacked, most of the buildings in the fortress were burned down in this attack, and the Aragvi clan was brutally massacred. Four years later, local peasants revolted against Shamshe's rule, killing the usurpers and inviting Teimuraz II, the king, to return to rule them. However, in 1746, King Teimuraz II was forced to suppress another peasant uprising with the help of King Erekle II of Kakheti. The fortress was in use until the early 19th century. In 2007, it was included in the reserve list of world tangible cultural heritage by UNESCO.

The Russia-Georgia Friendship Monument is 120 kilometers away from Tbilisi. It is located on the military artery between Georgia and Russia. It is a circular concrete observation deck. It was built in 1983 to celebrate the bicentenary of the Treaty of Georgievsk. of long-term friendship. Stepantsminda is a new name, its original name was Kazbegi, from Georgia writer Alexander Kazbegi, who was born in Stepantsminda in 1848.

Gergeti Trinity Church is located on the banks of the Chkheri River on Mount Kazbek at an altitude of 2170 meters. The Gergeti Holy Trinity Church was built in the 14th century AD and is the only cross-basilica church in the Kazbek region. It sits on the top of a steep hill and became a symbol of Georgia. The 18th-century Georgian writer Vakhushti Batonishvili wrote that in times of crisis, Mtskheta's precious artifacts, including Saint Nino's Cross, were brought here for safekeeping. During Soviet times, all religious activities were banned, but the church remained a popular tourist attraction.
