The MTR Corporation announced today (29 January 2024) that the In-town Check-in Service at Airport Express (AEL) Hong Kong Station will be extended until 11:00 pm starting from 1 February (Thursday) after coordination with the relevant airline. Four self-service bag drop counters are being introduced from the same day, allowing passengers of designated airline to complete the check-in and baggage drop-off process on their own, along with smart check-in kiosks. Currently, the In-town Check-in Service at Hong Kong Station is only available for Cathay Pacific passengers. The Corporation will continue to coordinate with other airlines on their service arrangements. To benefit, use the same Octopus (with sufficient value) to interchange within one hour of arrival between the Airport Express at Hong Kong, Kowloon or Tsing Yi stations and the interconnecting MTR Line, including Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau stations (except the Light Rail, MTR Bus and East Rail Line First Class). For passengers taking journeys starting with MTR lines followed by the Airport Express, the journey with the lower fare will be free. When changing between Tsim Sha Tsui/East Tsim Sha Tsui stations you must do so within 30 minutes of arrival at either station.<ul><li>Hotel Shuttle Service</li></ul>There are hotels providing shuttle bus service to and from Airport Express Hong Kong or Kowloon Station, relevant passengers may use the hotel shuttle waiting area to take the shuttle bus. On the other hand, the Airport Express Shuttle Bus service that was previously provided exclusively for Airport Express passengers travelling to or from Hong Kong or Kowloon stations has been terminated since April 2020.&nbsp;<ul><li>Free In-train Wi-Fi Service</li></ul>Passengers travelling on the Airport Express can now conveniently enjoy free high-speed wireless broadband Internet Access with your Wi-Fi enabled gadget.
