As a higher-altitude railway section across the Alps, the Bernina Express connects northern and southern Europe, bridging different language areas and cultures. The railway is harmoniously embedded in the mountains of Albula and Bernina in a unique way. The train easily passes through 55 tunnels, 196 bridges and slopes with gradients up to 70%. Admire panoramic views of the Motlach Glacier and the world-famous Montebello Curve. The Bernina Express travels through the Swiss Alps from north to south, with ever-changing scenery along the way, passing alpine lakes, glaciers, and forests.
