Activation date: refers to the first use date selected when linking the pass to the app.
1. Before the pass is linked and activated in the app:
This pass must be activated within 11 months from the date of issuance (purchase) and will expire if not activated (except for specified promotional products).
For example, if a pass is purchased on January 1 and remains unactivated, its expiration date is calculated as 11 months from January 1. It can be activated on any day within those 11 months.
2. After linking the pass to the app and activating it:
Continuous
The validity period of the pass starts from the first travel date selected when linking the app and must be used consecutively for N days.
For example, if you purchase a 15-day consecutive package on Jan 1 and select Feb 1 as the start date when linking the app, the validity period will run from Feb 1 to Feb 15.
Flexible
Valid for N days within X months from the first travel date selected when linking the pass to the app, calculated based on the pass validity period and number of days.
For example, if you purchase a flexible package for 4 days within 1 month and choose Feb 1 as the start date when linking the app, the validity period will be within 1 month from Feb 1, allowing you to use it on any 4 days during this period.

Step 6: Use
Go to "My Pass" in the bottom menu, then tap "Show ticket" under the travel day.

Activate your pass within 11 months of purchase by downloading the Eurail/Interrail Rail Planner app. The start date selected when activating your pass in the Rail Planner app will be your pass activation date, with validity beginning from that date.
4. Can multiple passes be linked to one device?
You can add multiple passes to your device as needed. After activating a pass during your trip, you can also transfer it to another device (only one transfer allowed). If you're traveling as a group with multiple passes stored on one device, all members must travel together for all journeys.
Child passes need to be activated just like regular passes and can be stored on a separate device. Child passes should always have their own travel and ticket information for inspection during the train journey.
Children under 4 years old can travel for free, with no need to purchase a separate pass.
[Notes on linking multiple passes to one device]
If multiple people are traveling together, the same mobile phone can activate multiple tickets at the same time. If you have multiple passes on your phone, please note the following:

2. If you have already created an itinerary, you can copy an existing one and link the copy to another pass. Please name each itinerary differently to manage all your trips.

The pass can only be linked to another device once.

Taking an overnight train can save travel days. If you stay on the same train overnight without transferring to another train after midnight, it will only count as 1 travel day. Example: For a train departing at 7:10 PM on October 14 and arriving at the destination at 2:30 AM on October 15, simply mark October 14 on your rail pass travel calendar.

What if I miss the train?
If you miss your train due to personal reasons (such as being late), unfortunately you'll need to book a seat on the next available train. If seat reservations aren't mandatory, you can simply board the next scheduled train.
Train delays and cancellations
If your train is delayed or canceled, we recommend contacting railway staff and providing delay confirmation to be accommodated on the next available service. Alternatively, you can modify your booking at the station, though fees may apply. If there are alternative trains that don't require reservations, you can simply board them to reach your final destination. For unused seat reservations due to cancellations or delays, compensation may be available under the carrier's terms with proof of cancellation if rerouting isn't possible.
