Please be aware of this before placing an order.</h2><p><br></p><p>In Portugal, there is a very unique village called Monsanto, also known as the Portuguese Megalithic Village. The houses in the village are all built between huge rocks. The stone houses built along the terrain are either sandwiched between the boulders or pressed under the boulders. You have to marvel at their ingenuity. Since prehistoric times, the top of the mountain where Monsanto is located has always been an extremely important strategic location. The village has the remains of the Templar Castle, which was partially destroyed in an explosion in the 19th century. The Festival of the Holy Cross held in the village on May 3 every year is one of the most symbolic traditions, and its purpose is to commemorate the long history of local resistance to foreign attacks.</p><p><br></p><p>In 1938, Monsanto was awarded the title of "the most Portuguese village in Portugal".
