There is a fountain in the center of the square. The whole square is paved with black and white Portuguese gravel, which forms a wavy pattern, with typical Portuguese style. The buildings around the square (the Civil Affairs Administration, the Tourist Office, the Post Office and the Hall of Mercy, etc.) are of Southern European architectural style and full of exotic scenery. Attractions and Activities: Chapel of Our Lady of Penha (Free entry How to visit:No indoor visits) The land where the church stands was donated by the Senate of the Augustinians for the construction of the church, which was dedicated to the Our Lady of Penha of France. The church was then constructed in 1622 and became the property of the Augustinians until 1834 when they were expelled from Macau.
