We provide Private Tours specifically for Foreigners
Enjoy a private hiking tour at the Tiger Leaping Gorge with a professional guide.
Tiger Leaping Gorge is considered one of China's best hiking areas for its perfect adventurous and off-the-beaten routes, Naxi culture, and magnificent mountain, gorge and river scenery. It is 2 hours drive from Lijiang. Tiger Leaping Gorge provides various hiking routes suitable for beginners to the experienced and adventurous. It is suitable for most of the year except during the rainy season from June to September when landslides may occur.

Hiking along the Tiger Leaping Gorge isn't very strenuous except for the initial climb along a series of switchback called the 28 bends.

We will pick you from the hotel and drive to the Tiger Leaping Gorge or meet at the Tiger Leaping Gorge.
Trails are well-marked and easy to follow. But the path gets very narrow in some places, you have to walk carefully next to a cliff face. The path isn't really dangerous, except in the rainy season

Though it is one of China's popular trails, it is not crowded as most foreign tourists take the high path above the river where few local tourists hike.

The 8-km route from 14-Km Point to Halfway Guesthouse (about 2 hours) and then to Tina's Guesthouse (about 2 hours). The 14-Km Point at the foot of the Haba Snow Mountain can be accessed by driving and you can still enjoy the snow mountains, waterfalls and the panorama of the Gorge. You can stop for lunch at Halfway Guesthouse.

For the adventurous, the hike from Tina's Guesthouse to the Middle Gorge unveils the beauty of the Gorge from the bottom with a quick, steep climb. Middle Gorge trails along the roaring Jinsha River offer unbeaten views of the sheer powerful gorge. Climbing the steep Sky Ladder is an adventure. The most popular route is Teacher Zhang's Trail in and Sky Ladder out which offers the best experience and is time-saving.
Start from Tina's Guesthouse and descend along Teacher Zhang's Trail near the cliff to reach the bottom of the Middle Gorge (about 1 hour). The dangerous 'Starry Sky Reef' marks the narrowest part of the gorge and you have the option to step out onto Tiger Leaping Rock via a hanging wooden suspension bridge. Follow the paths to Sky Ladder (about 1 hour) The Sky Ladder is very steep. If you are afraid of heights, you can take another trail back to Tina's Guesthouse.
