Xi'an Dinner and Show of Tang Dynasty Palace offers a unique experience of the Empress of the Great Tang Show combined with a sumptuous Imperial Banquet or Dumpling Banquet.
The Empress of the Great Tang Show vividly portrays the life of Wu Zetian, the only female emperor in Chinese history. Born in 624, Wu Zetian entered the imperial palace at 14 as a talent of Emperor Taizong of Tang and was given the title "Wu Mei". Later, she became Empress under Emperor Gaozong. After Emperor Gaozong's death, she took control of the court as the empress dowager. In 690, she ascended the throne, changed the dynasty name to Zhou, and established the Wu Zhou regime.
The show is divided into several acts, including "The Selection of Court Ladies", "Breaking into Wende Hall", "The War", "The Joint Rule of Two Saints", and "The Enthronement". Through magnificent Tang - style music, dance, and elaborate stage settings, it presents Wu Zetian's life journey, from a young and ambitious court lady to a powerful empress.
While enjoying the show, you can savor the Imperial Banquet, which is inspired by the cuisine of the Tang Dynasty. The dishes are exquisitely prepared, each with a rich historical and cultural background.
