We will start the day heading towards Poncebos, following the course of the Cares River. In Poncebos, the starting point of the famous Cares Route. Known as "La Garganta Divina" (The Divine Gorge), this route passes through an impressive gorge offering unforgettable views of the Cares Gorge, a natural canyon carved out by the erosion of the river between the steep rock walls. - Bulnes Funicular: We will head to the funicular that will take us to Bulnes, a small, charming village hidden in the heart of the Picos de Europa, which cannot be reached by road. The funicular ride, which lasts just 8 minutes, is a unique experience: completely underground, it passes through the mountain and provides access to one of the most isolated and authentic villages in Asturias.
- Village of Bulnes: Once in Bulnes, you will be immersed in an environment that seems untouched by the passage of time. Its cobbled streets, traditional houses and peaceful atmosphere make it an ideal place to disconnect, as there is no cell phone coverage. Here, you can visit the small chapel of Nuestra Señora de las Nieves, a place full of charm, or climb up to the viewpoint, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of Picu Urriellu (Naranjo de Bulnes), one of the most iconic peaks in Spain and a symbol of inspiration for mountaineers and travelers from all over the world.
- Cabrales Cheese Cave: We will continue our excursion by traveling to Arenas de Cabrales, the birthplace of one of the most cherished traditions in Asturias: the production of the famous Cabrales cheese. During our visit to the Cheese Cave, you will learn about the artisanal process of making this delicacy, a method that has been passed down from generation to generation and has made Cabrales cheese one of the hallmarks of Asturian cuisine.
