From the bottom of the temple, take the cable car to reach the top or climb a staircase of 306 steps up to the temple. This staircase leading to the site is adorned with the impressive body of the mythical dragon-headed serpent, or Naga, snaking its way down 306 steps.
Reaching the top, admire the Lanna architecture style golden pagoda covered with engraved gold plates, flanked by four ornamental umbrellas. As well as seeing this magnificent temple, the trip would be worth it just for the stunning views across Chiang Mai alone. Enjoy the great scenic panoramic view of Chiang Mai city from a 3,520-foot (1,056-meter) viewpoint on the mountain top.
