📶 10-Day eSIM Experience in Switzerland (March 2026)
#eSIM #SwitzerlandTravel #EuropeInternet #EssentialForIndependentTravel #StableNetwork
During my 10-day independent trip to Switzerland in March 2026, I used eSIM for internet access throughout. The overall experience was stable and efficient. From receiving the QR code after purchase to completing the setup, it took only a few minutes to activate, without needing to change a physical SIM card. This is a huge plus for travelers with tight schedules.
📡 In Zurich, Lucerne, Interlaken, and the Jungfrau region, the network performance was generally stable. Signal strength in urban areas was almost perfect; navigation, checking train schedules, and uploading photos were all smooth. In mountainous areas or on moving trains, the signal occasionally weakened or became briefly unstable, but it remained within acceptable limits and did not affect overall usability.
⚙️ The biggest advantage of eSIM is its convenience. It allows you to retain your original phone number, ensuring uninterrupted reception of important messages. This is extremely useful for those who need to check transportation information or adjust their itineraries on the fly. Customer service response time was acceptable, and basic issues were resolved effectively.
Overall, if your needs are "stable availability + time saving," this eSIM is a reliable choice for use in Switzerland. However, if you expect to maintain high-speed network access in remote mountainous areas, it's advisable to lower your expectations, as terrain factors still play a role.

The price was genuinely cheap. When other tour groups saw that they had booked at this price, they suddenly had much more respect for Ctrip. I used to think Ctrip was expensive, but now I realize I didn't know how to book there.
The accommodation in Guilin was poor. The bathroom light was dim, the bed was extremely hard, and maybe because of the humid weather, the blankets felt damp. The hotel environment was generally poor, but the location was okay. The only thing that was acceptable was the hot water, which was great (though my expectations were low). If you're a more discerning traveler...
The next morning, we got up early to take a boat trip on the Li River to Yangshuo. We booked the boat tickets there (because Ctrip didn't offer this product separately), and we basically got ripped off by over 30 yuan per ticket, not including pick-up and drop-off. So, sometimes I don't know what to say, but overall, taking a boat trip to Yangshuo was definitely the right choice.
Accommodation in Yangshuo was average, generally worth the price. The owner was very welcoming and proactively picked us up from the pier, recommending places to eat and do along the way. We booked the Liu Sanjie show and Yulong River rafting through the hotel owner. One package was about 10 yuan more expensive than on Taobao, while another was about 10 yuan cheaper. Overall, the price was the same as on Taobao, so we booked through the owner because it was convenient.
Overall, the trip was good.
One more thing: Guilin and Yangshuo are famous, with many foreigners and relatively few Chinese tourists, which actually makes them less expensive than Lijiang and Sanya, making them worth visiting.
