Reviews: Madrid: Museo del Prado Guided Tour

We are so grateful that we had Stefani as our guide. Passionate, incredibly knowledgeable and kind, she expertly shepherded us through the crowds. By the end of the 2 hours, we felt like we knew a ton about Spanish history, the evolution of the artists’ styles, and how to navigate the rest of the immense Prado collection on our own. Stefani explained the nuances and fascinating stories behind of many of the masterpieces. Armed with the background and knowledge that Stefani imparted, we stayed in the Prado until we felt we had thoroughly explored the collection. Skip the line tickets are included; you can stay inside the Prado until it closes at 8, but you cannot leave and return. The crowds thinned around 3:00, and we were able to return to some of our favorite works and enjoy them in relative solitude. This tour was a great value—we felt it was the ideal way to maximize our enjoyment of one of the greatest collections in the world.
