A really great tour! I was picked up from my hotel on time, after which we explored Mindello. That took about an hour. Then we drove around the island a bit, as described. A cup of tea or coffee at the top with a small rum tasting (included). The tour continued north to Calhau. We had a delicious meal there (not included). The guide was very friendly and informative. Excellent!

We started the activity at the local fish and vegetable market. Hosts Catia and Markus were waiting for us at the market, both very friendly people who enthusiastically told us about the various market items and life in Mindelo. Very educational! And then the cooking/eating, by far the best food we had in Mindelo. Catia walked us through the use of ingredients and every step of the cooking process, which we really appreciated. Although I don't think we'd be able to make it this delicious when we got back to the Netherlands. Markus showed us his music studio and let us sample all the flavors of his homemade ponche, made with local rum. A nice bonus :-). All in all, an experience we definitely recommend in Mindelo!

A wonderful introduction to Cape Verde's musical culture, with its Portuguese influences. Ideal for a Friday or Saturday. Indeed, it would be nearly impossible to explore the places our guide Marion shows us on our own. Moreover, her explanations are both helpful and engaging, providing a deep understanding of this culture, its history, and its evolution. Ideally, do this at the beginning of your trip!

A nicely paced walk with our guide to view nearby historic sites and architectural influences. included meeting with a guitarist who demonstrated Cabo Verdian rhythms while a dancer instructed us on how they dance to each. interactive and fun. if you like to dance take this tour!


