I signed up for this tour because it offered everything I wanted to do! It was a weekday evening tour, and there were about 15 or 16 of us in total, some listening to English guides and others to Japanese guides. For the lantern release and tea ceremony, we each chose whether or not to participate and told the guide. Those who didn't participate had free time to explore. There was a lot of climbing and descending stairs, so it was hot and I sweated a lot. I was glad I had water and sweat wipes. There were also many other tour groups sightseeing there!★

It was raining that day, and the meeting place was on the opposite side of the station from the hotel, so I was a little late, but luckily I was able to find the tour group right away. The guide was kind, and we were able to tour Jiufen without wasting any time. If I had asked for notes and contact information about the shops earlier via LINE, I think I wouldn't have missed any of the shops that were mentioned in the guide's conversation. The map they gave us was very simple and cute, but it was so different from Google Maps that we got completely lost. However, the things we couldn't do and the shops we missed this time have given me something to look forward to on a future trip. The guide was surprised when I said that I got a little lost and didn't have enough time. But it was fun.
