Top Experiences & Travel Essentials in Taipei

Taipei sits in a basin surrounded by mountains in the island’s north. As the lively capital of Taiwan, it's shaped by centuries of Chinese, Japanese, and local influences. Taipei weather is generally warm and humid, with subtropical rains in summer and milder, drier days in winter. From night markets to shopping districts, Taipei attractions cater to every kind of traveler. Dominating the skyline is Taipei 101, once the world’s tallest building, now home to the famous Taipei 101 Observatory, offering sweeping city views. For a quieter escape, the Taipei Zoo is recommended, offering a family-friendly look at wildlife.

Reviews: Shifen Old Street + Yehliu Geopark + Jiufen Old Street one-day tour [Depart from Taipei | Guaranteed departure]
Guest User2025-12-02
This is a highly recommended one-day tour. Pauline was our guide; she was experienced, attentive to the group members, and the tour was well-organized with plenty of time. Along the way, we enjoyed the scenery of the Taiwan Strait, released sky lanterns in Shifen, ate taro balls in Jiufen, and visited night markets, all for just over a hundred dollars – a great deal! It's also a great way to get exercise, making it excellent value for money. I would definitely recommend it to others!
Reviews: [Exclusive for International Travelers] Taiwan High Speed Rail One-Way Ticket (15% Discount)
Guest User2025-12-07
The instructions are very clear: on the official website, enter your order number, passport number, travel time, and train/bus number. Print it out at the High Speed Rail counter an hour before your departure. The High Speed Rail departs very punctually, with little time for passengers to board. Therefore, arriving 20 minutes early is the safest option. At Tainan Station, you can sit on the first floor and check the timetable until the previous train departs, then go up to the waiting area for your train – the timing will be perfect. Otherwise, you'll be exposed to the sun or strong winds while waiting on the platform.
