I bought a 24-hour ticket and exchanged it at Rosio Station. Because there are many hills, I used public transportation to see the sights. The entrance to Lisbon Cathedral was not free, but I got a discount of €5.60. However, I saved about 4000 yen by visiting Ajuda Palace and the Jeronimos Monastery.

Our guide Renato did a fantastic job educating us on the history of the Templars and the Order of Christ in Portugal and bringing the incredible Convent to life. The tour was paced perfectly as we moved through the Convent, but never hurried.

We had a fantastic private tour with João Fiandeiro exploring the Templar Castle and Convent of the Order of Christ in Tomat. He is very knowledgeable about the Templars, the site, the symbolism, the history, and he was very good at answering our questions. We enjoyed it immensely and were able to expand our education on the subject. João Is definitely an authority on this subject. Highly recommended!


