Gaoligongshan National Nature Reserve is located on the west bank of the Nujiang. The reserve is 9 km wide from east to west and 135 km long from north to south. With steep terrain and alternating north-south mountain ridges and valleys, it features typical alpine canyon views and abundant animal and plant resources. Gaoligongshan National Nature Reserve runs parallel to the Nujiang from north to south, with a relative height difference of nearly 3,000 m between the mountain peaks and the river valley. Gaoligongshan National Nature Reserve has steep terrain, with the main peak at an altitude of 5,128 m and the lowest point at just over 500 m, creating a unique three-dimensional climate where "four seasons exist on one mountain, and the weather changes every 10 li." It is an ideal home for wildlife, with over 2,000 species of wild animals and over 400 species of birds inhabiting the mountains. Relic species such as the antelope, Indian tiger, stump-tailed macaque, rhesus macaque, Asiatic golden cat, and sambar deer live here, as well as rare birds like the white-tailed pheasant, red pheasant, golden eagle, and green peafowl. It is truly a "paradise for the world's pheasants." In the central area of the nature reserve, the Yaojiaping Forest Tourist Resort has been built. Due to the diverse forest types and vertical vegetation distribution in the nature reserve, you can experience the climate and scenery of all four seasons in a single day at Yaojiaping. Here, you can see the main ridge of theGaoligong Mountains, which resembles an icy Great Wall, and view the Dishuihe Twin Waterfalls, known as the "Yinshan Biaoshui." If you climb up the mountain, you can also admire the alpine glacial lakes.Lushui · 20.1 km from downtown

Tiger Jumping Canyon is famous for its steepness. The local Lisu people call this gorge "Lama Dengpei", and there are many strange peaks and rocks. The strange rocks have various shapes, such as the magical "Mis" Mountain, the naive and fierce Shenxiong Peak, and the daunting Eagle's Mouth Cliff. It is cool and breezy all year round, and it is very good to come here to relax and escape the heat in summer. It is said that Tiger Leaping Gorge is the area where the ancestors of the tiger tribe lived. They were all masters of hunting, and they often forced wild beasts to have nowhere to go.Lushui · 51.8 km from downtown

The Gaoligong Mountains are located on the west bank of the Nu River and form an important part of the Three Parallel Rivers UNESCO World Heritage Site. "Gaoligong" derives from the transliteration of a Jingpo ethnic family name "Gaoli," with "gong" meaning "mountain" in the Jingpo language—thus, "the mountain of the Gaoli family." Stretching from north to south, the Gaoligong Mountains span Gongshan, Fugong, and Lushui counties in Nujiang Prefecture, as well as Tengchong County and Longyang District in Baoshan City. Gaoligong Mountains National Nature Reserve is home to a variety of rare wildlife and plants, serving as the origin of Yunnan's eight famous flowers. Within the reserve, a giant rhododendron tree, renowned as the "King of Rhododendrons in the World," blooms over 40,000 flowers annually, creating a breathtaking spectacle. Additionally, the Gaoligong Mountains, dotted with cascading waterfalls, snow-capped peaks, and alpine lakes, also feature volcanic hot springs, making it a paradise for photographers and hikers with its stunning scenery.Tengchong · 40.6 km from Lushui

On the trip to western Yunnan, heading north, when I first saw the Nujiang River, I was shocked by its momentum, especially the mountains on both sides, which looked particularly majestic under the reflection of the sun and the background of blue sky and white clouds. However, fellow travelers said that this was just the beginning and could only be regarded as an appetizer. The real beauty of the Nujiang River is still far behind. So, how beautiful can you really be, Nujiang River?

Dulong River is a river that flows through the southeastern part of Zayu County, Tibet, Gongshan County, Yunnan, and Kachin State, Myanmar. It is also an important part of the "Four Parallel Rivers" in the western part of the Hengduan Mountains. Dulong River is recognized by experts as a "natural museum of wild plants" and is one of the most intact areas of my country's original ecology. It is inhabited by an ancient and closed ethnic group, the Dulong people. Due to the special geographical location of Dulong River, the geographical and climatic environment of mountains and rivers, snow and ice makes it isolated from the world. Few people go there for tourism, but the beautiful scenery and unique humanistic culture there bring us great temptation.

【Tiger Leap】Located in the Lamadeng Scenic Area next to the 219 National Highway in Nujiang Prefecture, Yunnan Province, standing on the observation deck, you can see a huge rock lying across the surging Nujiang River, forcing the river surface to narrow, as if a powerful tiger could jump to the other side.

A must-visit science museum in Nujiang, it clearly outlines the unique geological features and rare flora and fauna of the Three Parallel Rivers, and also displays folk artifacts of ethnic minorities in the canyons such as the Lisu and Dulong. It blends nature and culture, is free to visit, and is a great place to learn.

What a wonderful day! The tour guide was incredibly warm and kind. Even traveling alone, I didn't feel lonely. The tour was very well-prepared; they took photos for me while we walked and gave me edible wild fruits and medicinal herbs. The meals were also delicious and beautifully presented. Highly recommended!

We only managed to get the earliest tickets, so we set off while it was still dark, taking a taxi. Upon arrival, we went straight to collect the oxygen cylinders and bottled water included in our package, and rented thick down jackets. Remember, always arrive at your reserved time for the cable car; otherwise, you won't be allowed through the ticket check. If you've finished exploring the main cable car and it's not time to take the Spruce Meadow cable car yet, you can take a bus to other attractions or simply wait. Because it was cloudy and rainy that day, we only reached 4506 meters for photos. At around 3000 meters, we didn't feel much, but at 4000 meters, breathing became quite difficult, and we felt a bit dizzy. Using oxygen occasionally was necessary; in the end, we didn't even finish one bottle, and we gave the other to the hotel. Spruce Meadow and Blue Moon Valley are both beautiful and photogenic!
