The Naruto Strait is located between Naruto and Awaji Island, the junction of the Seto Inland Sea and the Kii Waterway, and the Strait of Messina between the Italian peninsula and the Sicily peninsula, and the Huhu between the west coast of North America and the east coast of Vancouver Island. The Ann de Fuca Strait is also known as the world's three major eddies. The water drop here is as high as 1.5m when the tide rises and falls, and the tide speed is as high as 15-20km per hour. Therefore, countless vortices of different sizes are produced, and the diameter of the large vortex is as long as 20m. It is a world-famous vortex, which is breathtaking. The whirlpool landscape of Naruto can be viewed from a close distance by a tourist boat, or from the 45-meter-high sky from the vortex road inside the Onaruto Bridge that spans the Naruto Strait.Naruto · 13.7 km from Minamiawaji

Utsunomichi Road is a sea promenade built within the bridge (under the lane) of the Onaruto Bridge over the Naruto Strait. Watching whirlpools on a glass floor as high as 45 meters is exciting. You can take a walk on the sea while enjoying the spectacular scenery on the bridge. There are 4 glass floors on the way of the passage, and it is creepy to see the whirlpool through the glass windows. In the design, in order to reduce the influence of wind on the bridge itself, iron mesh is used on both sides of the passage. The observation room structure at the front end of the promenade is a circular structure that makes full use of the beam space. This place is located 45 meters above the sea above the land. From here, you can see the Naruto Maelstrom and the roaring rapids with your own eyes through the glass floor. Usually, you can see the view of the Pacific Ocean, but also the ever-changing scenery of the Seto Inland Sea.Naruto · 14.2 km from Minamiawaji

[Hyogo Prefecture / Awaji Island] Awaji Island is a popular driving destination on sunny days📍 First, cross the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge and go left, there is a roadside station where you can eat lunch and buy onions (^^) When you go to the back of the store, there is a square and you can see the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge🙌 There are many cafes with ocean views on Awaji Island, but I like Shiawase no Pancakes and often stop by! The pancakes you eat on the terrace with a view of the ocean are delicious🫶

Choosing the right time and season is crucial for visiting Naruto. Take a boat, not the bridge. Seeing the whirlpools from the sea is a magical experience. The deep blue whirlpools against the backdrop of sunshine and blue sky are breathtaking.

The Otsuka Museum of Art in Tokushima is a place where replicas of famous paintings from all over the world are gathered. They are so accurate that they look just like the real thing! Everything is wonderful. You'll feel like you're at the Louvre in France. There are many paintings from ancient times, the Renaissance, and modern times, You can enjoy it all day. It will probably take you about 2 hours even if you look around quickly 😂

This is an animal-themed amusement park located in the southern part of Awaji Island. It is broadly divided into two areas (north and south), and you can travel between them by a train-shaped bus. The bus comes every 5 minutes or so, so the waiting time wasn't much of a concern. We were able to see quite a number of animals, including rabbits, guinea pigs, koalas, tortoises, snakes, squirrel monkeys, emus, and more. Traveling around in the scorching sun can be tough, but there are benches everywhere so you can easily stay hydrated. It was a short trip from Kobe, but we were able to enjoy ourselves all day long.

I went on February 11th, which was a public holiday. It was not crowded and I was able to park my car in the parking lot next door. The red torii gate ⛩ is a large but small shrine. It is a 500 yen red stamp. It is a convenient shrine that can be visited in 10 minutes.

When I came to Tokushima, I was most looking forward to seeing one of the world's three largest whirlpools ''Naruto Vortex''. Unfortunately, when I checked the vortex forecast time, I knew that the chance of seeing a big tide was not great😫, so I decided not to sit and watch the tide⛴️. Only go to the Great Naruto Bridge, which has a "vortex road" on its surface, where you can overlook the whirlpool beneath your feet from the 45-foot-high underground glass. There are also observation decks from different angles near the bridge, steps, and today the blue sky with the white bridge is great for photography.

Ticketing was quick, and e-tickets were convenient. I didn't expect it to be so long; it's just a matter of time and itinerary. I didn't see the vortex.
