Adelaide Central Market has been open since 1869, with a history spanning over 150 years. It is one of the largest indoor fresh produce markets in the Southern Hemisphere, with over 70 stalls under one roof. Located in the heart of Adelaide, the market features vibrant aisles connecting the stalls. Fresh fish and meat, fruits and vegetables, international cheeses, artisanal bread, desserts, cured meats, nuts, spices, and freshly ground coffee are lined up along the way. Rather than just a place to buy ingredients, it is more of a gourmet maze where you can eat while you browse. The market developed from early morning street trading by immigrant farmers. Since then, immigrants from all over the world have brought in ingredients and culinary skills from their hometowns. European hams and sausages, Asian spices, and local South Australian fruits and vegetables are all showcased together, making it a microcosm of South Australia's diverse food culture. The market's main facade, built in 1900, is still in use today. Most stall owners here are happy to offer samples and chat about their ingredients. Chinatown is right next to the market, so if you get tired of walking, you can easily find a small restaurant to sit down and enjoy a big meal.Adelaide · 39.3 km from Port Willunga
Onkaparinga River National Park

Onkaparinga River National Park

2.7
Onkaparinga River National Park is located south of Adelaide, South Australia, Australia, approx. 30 km from the city center. Stretching along both banks of the Onkaparinga River, it is one of the iconic local nature reserves. Established in 1993, it covers an area of approx. 500 hectares and is known for its spectacular river gorges, native bushland, and rich wildlife, making it a popular destination for hiking, birdwatching, and outdoor adventures. A highlight here is the deep gorge formed by the long-term erosion of the Onkaparinga River, where the river winds through steep rock walls, creating a rare gorge landscape in South Australia. The park features several trails, with Punchbowl Lookout and Gorge Trail being particularly well-known. Visitors can follow the trails deep into the gorge to enjoy the river, rock formations, and the changing natural views throughout the seasons. On clear days, the lookout offers a panoramic view of the entire valley and surrounding hills, providing magnificent scenery.Onkaparinga Hills · 14.9 km from Port Willunga

Walking into the park, the roads are filled with colorful plants of different shapes and sizes, which makes it feel like summer. There is a rose garden not far from the entrance, where roses of various colors compete for beauty. Going deep into the park, you will see a large-scale glass greenhouse "Tropical Rainforest Observation Park" in the southern hemisphere, which is the 200th anniversary of the founding of Australia. Walking in is like being in the Jurassic era, and there will be water mist spraying from time to time. The botanical garden is large and suitable for walking.Adelaide · 40.7 km from Port Willunga

In the slightly hot summer, Greer is a resort for locals to escape the heat and enjoy the sea. People who like tranquility will put up a beach chair or a blanket here and sit and watch the blue sea to feel the enthusiasm of the sun, while active people like all kinds of fun water games, from the bridge board. Jumping down has become a challenge game for many brave warriors. Standing on the bridge, a perfect take-off action is matched with the self-created water entry action, accompanied by a burst of water and jumping into the icy sea. That kind of excitement is cool! Or find a surfing instructor, "ride the wind and waves" under his leadership, and experience the fun of surfing. This is a favorite project of local children. Of course, there are many activities you can join on the beach, such as Australia's characteristic sport - cricket, or beach volleyball, which is suitable for all ages. You can join the locals and experience the sweaty beach sports.Glenelg · 32.2 km from Port Willunga

There are many kinds of things you can buy in the market. I think it’s amazing. The fruits and vegetables in Australia are very big, and there are also many desserts. I bought donuts, which are very delicious.

Adelaide is a relatively large city with complicated road conditions. I drove very carefully. I finally reached the city center and found that there were very few parking lots. I found one, which cost $7 an hour. It was expensive, so I had to park. The famous Blueway Pedestrian Street is located above the parking lot. It is the commercial center of Adelaide, with various shopping malls. If you like shopping, come here.

It's a very special place, in the suburbs of Adelaide. You can go there on the way from Adelaide to Kangaroo Island. There are not many tourists, so it's more convenient to drive here. The scenic area is not big, just by the sea, it can be regarded as a geological relic.

Adelaide Botanic Garden is a serene escape in the heart of the city, where beautifully curated landscapes meet peaceful walking paths. Lush lawns, vibrant flower beds, and towering palms create a refreshing atmosphere perfect for slow strolls or quiet reflection. The Bicentennial Conservatory is a standout, showcasing exotic rainforest plants in a stunning glass structure. Shaded benches and open spaces make it ideal for picnics, reading, or simply unwinding. Well-maintained and thoughtfully designed, the garden blends education with relaxation. Whether you’re a plant lover or just seeking calm, Adelaide Botanic Garden offers a gentle, rejuvenating experience for visitors year-round.

Glenelg Beach is also a free place. Adelaide is a city close to the coastline. The urban area is not very large and there are many tourist resources. The wine here is also very famous. You can come here to taste it slowly.
