China. Suining Shuiyue Zen Temple (originally called Futu Temple) is located on the bank of Shuiyue Lake in the western suburbs of Suining. The temple covers an area of more than 300 acres and is now a national AAAA-level Attraction. The temple was first built in the late Eastern Han Dynasty. It has experienced wars, disasters, and rise and fall. The Zen temple was rebuilt in April 2011 and completed in October 2013. The construction of the Zen temple is based on the planning concept of "bringing wind and water, classical layout; simple architecture, Zen space". The architectural style is unique and ingenious, subverting people's fixed thinking mode of Buddhist architecture. The design perfectly combines Buddhist elements with architectural art, with unique expression techniques, more reasonable functions and layout, and realizes the perfect combination of Buddhist elements and modern architectural art, creating a unique Buddhist activity place in China. Because the temple is Souvenir by water, and because the belief in cause, effect, roundness and lack in Buddhism is like the moon, and the temple highlights the culture of Shuiyue Guanyin, the temple is named "Shuiyue Zen Temple". In November 2015, it was named one of the top nine religious buildings in the world at the World Architecture Festival held in Singapore.Suining · 4.5 km from downtown

The Qianlong Palace is located in Zaohe Town on the south banks of Luoma Lake in the northwestern part of the city. It was built during the 23rd year of the reign of the Kangxi Emperor of the Qing Dynasty (1684). Aligned on a north-south axis and facing to the south, it features a symmetrical layout. A pair of stone lions stands at the front of the temple. The back of the temple still has a pair of drum and bell towers on the left and right sides; continuing north, visitors will encounter the uniquely styled Yubei Pavilion (commonly known as the Emperor's Umbrella Pavilion). Inside the pavilion the four sides of the stele have engraved poetry written by the Qianlong Emperor on his Southern Tour. Built atop a base of golden stone with a roof of glassy green tiles, the Hall of the Heavenly King embodies the theme of this group of ancient buildings. The Hall was used for making offerings. East and west, to either side of the Hall, there are two corridors of galleries as well as rows of ancient pines. Years ago, the scent of incense would have been very strong.Suqian · 21.2 km from Suining

Crowned as "The King of the Five Sacred Mountains", Mount Tai has been one of China's most famous mountain peaks since ancient times. A large and impressive rock mass covering 25,000 ha and rising to 1,545 m above the surrounding plateau, Mount Taishan is considered one of the most beautiful scenic spots in China and was an important cradle of oriental East Asian culture since the earliest times. The mountain was an important object of the cult worship of mountains even before 219 BCE, when the Qin Emperor paid tribute to the mountain to inform the gods of his success in unifying all of China. Watching the sunrise and catching the spectacular sea of clouds are common activities that visitors engage in. You are also encouraged to explore the ancient sites, engravings, and religious temples to understand the role of Mount Tai in China's long history.China · Tai'an

"In March when flowers bloom, head to Yangzhou." When visiting Yangzhou in spring, a trip to Slender West Lake is a must. This narrow stretch of waterway offers the perfect blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage. Stroll along the banks to admire scenic views, explore historic pavilions adorned with classical poetry and paintings, or cruise the lake by boat to experience the leisurely pleasure Emperor Qianlong once enjoyed during his royal visits. The attraction is quite expansive, stretching from the Great Rainbow Bridge in the southeast all the way north along the lake to Guanyin Mountain, passing dozens of attractions along the way. There are four main entrances (east, south, west, and north), with most visitors starting their tour at the south entrance on Great Rainbow Bridge Road. This renowned lakeside garden boasts breathtaking natural views. In spring, the area is shaded by lush willows and adorned with camellias, pomegranates, azaleas, and peach blossoms, attracting visitors from across the country to enjoy the seasonal blooms. For centuries, countless literati have lingered here, composing poetry and creating paintings that left behind numerous artistic treasures and stories. The site also features many landscape structures ingeniously designed to harmonize with its natural surroundings. The Five Pavilion Bridge in Shugang Slender West Lake Scenic Area is the iconic attraction with over 200 years of history. Featuring five wind pavilions atop, each of the bridge's fifteen arches cradles a moon during full moon nights. Another renowned attraction is the Twenty-Four Bridge, inspired by Du Mu's poetic line "Where is the jade-like beauty teaching flute-playing on the moonlit Twenty-Four Bridge?" While the original bridge no longer exists, visitors can admire its reconstructed version today. This was also a stop during Emperor Qianlong's southern tours in the Qing Dynasty. Architectural views like the Great Rainbow Bridge, Slender West Lake Scenic Area's Fishing Terrace, White Pagoda, and the Twenty-Four Bridges' Xichun Platform all bear inseparable historical anecdotes connected to Emperor Qianlong. During summer nights, the illuminated pavilions and moonlit reflections on the lake create a magical atmosphere. The nightlife experience here is entirely boat-based, offering a relaxing way to beat the summer heat while enjoying gentle lake breezes.China · Yangzhou

Xuzhou Jiudingshan Wildlife Park is a great place for a family trip! The park is quite large, divided into drive-through and walking areas. Taking the mini-train allows you to get up close to zebras, alpacas, black bears, and tigers, and you can even feed the animals – it's incredibly interactive. The animals are lively, and the park is clean and tidy.

A national cultural relic site, this is a Qing Dynasty northern palace-style architectural complex. Construction began during the Shunzhi period, and Emperor Qianlong stayed here during his five trips to the south of the Yangtze River. He wrote poems, built pavilions, and erected steles. As it was a royal palace, it was of high standard, large scale, and well-preserved.

This town is located east of Xuzhou and is currently undergoing expansion. There aren't many tourists, probably because there's an entrance fee. It's okay to stop by for a quick visit, but not worth making a special trip for.

The night climb of Mount Tai involves thousands of people, starting at 10 PM and taking 6 hours to reach the summit. Prices on the mountain are about the same as usual, so you don't need to carry a lot of water and food up the mountain. Although you can't see the sunset, it's still a great experience.

There are flower fields at Rainbow Bridge in June and July; they're very beautiful, but be sure to wear sunscreen. The lotus flowers at Mirror Lake are also beautiful. It's a great place for a family stroll. The scenic area's mini-train route has serious issues, causing you to miss most of the flower fields. To see the flowers, get off at the Children's Park station, then walk to the next intersection and turn left; that's the flower field at Rainbow Bridge (the mini-train will turn right at the intersection). Alternatively, go to Mirror Lake station to see the lotus flowers. Don't go to the flower field on the left-hand side at Mirror Lake station; there are no flowers there this season. Go to the lake on the right-hand side; walk around the viewing platform to reach Mirror Lake.

100 yuan is alright; the scenery is quite nice, with lots of swans and ducks. Sitting on the boat, listening to the boatwoman's explanations, was very comfortable. After it rained at the Twenty-Four Bridges, we transferred to the park's shuttle bus. It cost 20 yuan and took about 10 minutes. After that, I explored the surrounding area on my own. If you have enough time and energy, I think exploring on foot and slowly appreciating the scenery would be very pleasant.

We were very fortunate that our top guide today was Ms. Dong Ling. Her professional expertise was solid; she didn't just recite from memory. She eloquently explained the stories and archaeological backgrounds behind each of the museum's treasures, making dry history vivid and easy to understand. My son and I deeply experienced the thousand-year history of Nanjing. Highly recommended!
