At the foot of Mount Mifune in Takeo City lies the expansive Mifuneyama Garden, said to have been built over three years by the 28th lord of the Takeo Domain as a villa. Mount Mifune is named for its resemblance to a Tang Dynasty seagoing vessel. Mifuneyama Garden is a wonderful place to enjoy cherry blossoms and autumn foliage. Every spring, over 2,000 cherry trees and more than 200,000 azaleas bloom simultaneously, creating a vast carpet of azaleas against the backdrop of the Mount Mifune cliffs, resulting in a magnificent and breathtaking landscape. A flower festival is held here every spring, with cherry blossoms in March and azaleas and wisteria in April. The autumn foliage is also spectacular; during the Autumn Foliage Festival from early November to early December, there is a large-scale nighttime illumination event for viewing autumn leaves, creating a dreamlike atmosphere.Takeo · 1.3 km from downtown

One of Japan's three major "beauty soups", located in the tea town of Ureshino in Kyushu, originated in the 8th century. There are nearly 50 hot spring hotels located here. The spring water feels smooth and has a good cosmetic effect, and the skin feels smooth after bathing. Some of the hot spring water is still drinkable, and the famous Saga dish "Yufufu" is boiled with Ureshino's hot spring water. The hot spring hotels here have their own characteristics, including original hot springs soaked with tea leaves, picturesque open-air hot springs, and traditional warm Japanese style with modern elements. Now you can enjoy as much as you like by purchasing a "soup tour ticket" All bathing facilities.Ureshino · 11.4 km from Takeo

Yutoku Inari Shrine is located in Kashima City, Saga Prefecture, also known as Chinzei Nikko. It is one of Japan's three major Inari shrines, along with Fushimi Inari Taisha in Kyoto and Kasama Inari Shrine in Tochigi Prefecture. It attracts nearly 3 million visitors annually, making it the second most visited shrine in Kyushu after Dazaifu Tenmangu. Local residents affectionately call Yutoku Inari Shrine "Yutoku-san," and it holds deep significance for those involved in agriculture and commerce. The shrine is nestled among lush green mountains and waters, with its main structures like the main hall, front hall, and tower gate all painted in striking bright red, making it very eye-catching. Every year, about 2.8 million people come here to pray for a bountiful harvest, prosperous business, and safe travels. Saga Yutoku Inari Shrine also provides Chinese explanations for the fortune slips for Chinese visitors, so don't forget to try your luck with one when you visit. Known as the "Sunlight of Zhenxi," Yutoku Inari Shrine is famous not only as one of Japan's three major Inari shrines but also as the Shrine of Flowers. Each season, the shrine is surrounded by a sea of blossoms. Plum, cherry, azalea, and peony flowers bloom in succession with the changing seasons, attracting visitors to admire them. Especially during the rainy season, the hydrangeas, with over 600 plants blooming in the gardens and along the streams, create a vibrant carpet covering the entire shrine. The flowers and green leaves, washed by the rain, become more vivid, and the hydrangeas adorned with water droplets present a unique charm.Kashima · 15.7 km from Takeo

Takeo City, Saga Prefecture, famous for its hot springs, cooperated with Toriya Bookstore to transform the original municipal library into a Takeo City Library that combines library, bookstore and coffee shop. More people are immersed in the scholarly world. After reopening in April 2013, the museum has set a record of 260,000 visitors within three months of its opening, which is five times the local population. Rather than a library, the elevated space, stylish design, a variety of books and audio-visual CDs, and even a café are more like a composite bookstore. In cooperation with TSUTAYA, one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world, in addition to retaining the original functions of the library (such as book lending, reading room, audio-visual room, etc.) Enhance lighting, add iPad rental services, set up a dedicated reading area for audio-visual devices, etc. At the same time, the elements of bookstores and DVD rental shops are also added, so that people who come to the Takeo City Library can not only borrow books, but also buy their favorite books and rental CDs. In order to avoid confusion, the book display area is The black and white color is divided into sales and borrowing; and considering the busyness of modern people, a mechanism has also been set up that can be returned at the TSUTAYA branch after renting a DVD in the library. Not only that, there is also a coffee shop in the library, where you can While reading a book, sipping coffee, there are also limited-edition merchandise in the museum.Takeo · 673m from downtown

Located next to Ureshino Onsen, Takeo is also an ancient hot spring town with a 1,300-year history that has a distinct charm different from Ureshino. Takeo Onsen Romontei's symbol is the vermilion gate at the entrance, and the bathhouse has a nostalgic atmosphere. Takeo Onsen Romontei is a mildly alkaline hot spring that not only moisturizes the skin but is especially effective for relieving joint pain, muscle pain, and neuralgia. As early as the Edo period, the famous swordsman Miyamoto Musashi often visited here. At Takeo Onsen Romontei, there is a marble pool that was used by a former feudal lord for bathing, hence it was named "Denka-yu". It is now open to the public. For only JPY 3,800 you can book it for exclusive use and enjoy the luxury of royalty. Visitors can stroll along the hot spring street to relax, or visit the former lord's private Denka-yu for a different soaking experience. Every Sunday from 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM, a morning market is held on the street outside the gate, selling local specialties such as fresh vegetables, coffee, and lemongrass tea. In winter, hot spring water is also provided so visitors can warm their hands in a finger bath and experience the area's warm hospitality.Takeo · 540m from downtown

I came here after watching Detective Conan. It feels like a small Dutch town, very relaxed, without the crowds of TDL/S or USJ, and you don't need to rush to any attractions. It's just nice to stroll around quietly. There are many hotels here, making it suitable for overnight stays. There's a light show at night, and if you're lucky, there's even a fireworks display.

Mifuneyama Rakuen was a private garden of the Kuroshima family, the lord of the area during the Edo period. Built against the 210-meter-high Mifuneyama Mountain, it covers an area of more than 500,000 square meters. Every spring, the blooming azaleas cover the entire azalea valley like a carpet, and the artificial winding water and the towering Mifuneyama Mountain form a unique landscape.

Ureshino Hot Springs is famous, and so is its tea. Ureshino tea is the tea that Toyotomi Hideyoshi brought back from the Korean Peninsula with the captives of the Central Dynasty (including soldiers from the tea-producing areas of Jiangsu and Zhejiang) and the tea-growing and tea-making techniques. Did the three great expeditions of Wanli win or lose? In any case, when they later paid tribute to the Ming Dynasty, the Ming people from Nanjing brought the iron pot tea-frying technique to the east. It is said that part of Ureshino tea, namely the iron pot tea, still retains the tea-frying technique of the Ming Dynasty. Now most Japanese tea-making techniques are steam-extracted tea, including matcha. I talked to a tea garden owner about organic tea. Ureshino is a hilly basin area. As long as a tea garden inevitably uses pesticides, the pesticide residues floating in the air will cause a large area of tea gardens to not be able to obtain pesticide-free certification, and organic certification seems to be very difficult. Everyone tries not to use pesticides as much as possible, and then takes tea leaves from higher altitudes that are not easily contaminated by second-hand pesticides for certification. I couldn't control myself and bought a certain iron pot tea from Ureshino and a mixed tea of green tea and tea powder from another tea garden. The website of another tea shop said that they had 3 kilograms of award-winning tea. I went there just to take a look at the award-winning tea, but it was sold out just a few days after it was on the market. In the end, I ended up buying some tourist tea as a souvenir.

Takeo Onsen, which has a history of 1,300 years, has been a popular hot spring resort for historical figures since ancient times. The Japanese historical book "Hizen Province Fudoki" records that Empress Jingu once came to bathe. During the Bunroku-Keicho War, Toyotomi Hideyoshi also visited with many soldiers and left a red seal for bathing experience; famous military commanders of the Edo period, such as Miyamoto Musashi, Date Masamune, and Inō Tadataka, also left their footprints. You must experience the exclusive use of the lord's palace. And you must experience the 150-year-old hot spring Motoyu.

Accommodation Guide for Takeo - Kyotoya Takeo Romantic Hotel [Recommendation reason] We chose Kyoto Taisho Romantic House as the hotel to stay in Takeo, mainly because its room rate is relatively cheap, with breakfast and dinner for a double room only over 1,000. In addition, they claim to be a century-old store with a romantic atmosphere of the Taisho era, and they also provide the service of picking up guests with antique cars. [Travel tips] As expected, we arrived at Takeo Station on that day and asked the sister of the travel agency to call the hotel for us. Soon, a short driver drove the vintage car in the picture to pick us up. Although the journey only took three or five minutes, the experience was still quite good. [How to play] Their hotel is indeed very old in terms of facilities, especially when entering the door, the carpet is worn out. In the lobby, you can see many antiques from the Taisho era, such as phonographs, coffee sets, etc., which are very characteristic of the times and can be used to take literary photos. The hotel rooms are relatively old but still clean, and the public bathrooms are also good. It is enough to take a bath. Meals are eaten in the restaurant. Although it is ordinary Japanese food, it tastes good. After running the hot springs, I recommend that you put on the hotel's yukata and outer kimono jacket, and walk around Takeo Onsen Street in the wooden clogs provided by the hotel. Takeo Onsen Street is right outside the door. You can look at some cute little shops along the street and walk all the way to Takeo Onsen Public Bathhouse. Here, you can see the legendary red gatehouse, which is also a good place to take pictures. There are many Japanese locals here to take a bath. If you buy a pass, you can take a bath in several hot springs. Of course, under normal circumstances, two baths are enough.
