Wangxian Valley is located at the northern foot of Lingshan Mountain, hidden among mountain streams and gorges. It was formerly an abandoned granite quarry and, after years of ecological restoration, has been built into the valley town it is today. The attraction is structured around the Jiuniu Stream Gorge, where streams flow through the valley and waterfalls cascade in layers; the Sandie Waterfall and Sankou Pot are among its most recognizable natural views. In summer, visitors can also experience gorge rafting that winds through the ancient town. The cliffside building complex on Baihe Cliff is the attraction's signature view. On the nearly 100-meter-high cliff face, cantilevered guest rooms, plank walkways, and viewing platforms climb upward in a zigzag pattern, looking up from the valley floor like pavilions in the sky. After nightfall, the cliff lights come on one after another, and the entire valley resembles a painted scroll of lights; standing on Lanyue Bridge and gazing at the full panorama of Baihe Cliff is a classic photo spot here. The Yanpu Old Street in the valley restores the appearance of traditional dwellings in northeastern Jiangxi, with rammed earth walls, bluestone slab paths, and horse-head walls interwoven throughout. Workshop Street is lined with traditional handicraft workshops for brown sugar, brewing, papermaking, cloth dyeing, and more, where you can watch ancient production methods on site; Mingchan Alley gathers intangible cultural heritage crafts such as bamboo weaving and woodwork. Bawei Street offers a dazzling array of Jiangxi-style snacks such as dengzhan guo and taro dumplings. When visiting, it is recommended to enter the attraction in the afternoon so that you can clearly see the gorge landforms in daylight without missing the spectacular lighting after nightfall. The entire route requires walking and climbing stairs, so comfortable, slip-resistant shoes are advisable.China · Shangrao

Gulangyu Island, located in the southwest corner of Xiamen City, Fujian Province, faces Xiamen Island across the Lujiang Strait. Covering an area of approximately 1.88 square kilometers, it is a "garden on the sea, a piano island, and an exhibition of international architecture," blending nature and culture. In 2017, it was inscribed on the World Heritage List as "Gulangyu Historic International Settlement." The island is entirely bedrock, with a winding coastline featuring numerous natural harbors and reefs. The terrain is predominantly hilly, with the highest peak, Sunlight Rock, reaching 92.7 meters. It enjoys a subtropical marine monsoon climate, warm and humid with spring-like weather year-round, making it suitable for tourism. Motor vehicles are prohibited on the island, ensuring a tranquil atmosphere free from traffic noise, accompanied only by birdsong, fragrant flowers, and the gentle lapping of the waves. There are hundreds of existing historical buildings dating from the late 19th to the mid-20th century, encompassing various styles such as Gothic, Victorian, Baroque, Nanyang arcades, and Minnan ancient houses. It is known as the "World Architecture Expo" and is a living specimen of modern East Asian international communities. Representative buildings include the Bagua Building (Organ Museum), Shuzhuang Garden, Haoyue Garden, the former site of the HSBC Bank Mansion, Trinity Church, and the former residence of Lin Yutang. With a rich musical culture, Western music was introduced to the island through mission schools from the late Qing Dynasty onwards. The island has long been known for its high density of pianos, ranking among the top in the country. It has produced musical masters such as Yin Chengzong and Xu Feiping, earning it the reputation of "Piano Island" and "Music Island". The Piano Museum houses a century-old piano, and the Organ Museum houses a giant pipe organ. The sound of pianos can often be heard in the streets and alleys, and the tradition of family concerts continues to this day. Each of the island's core attractions has its own unique characteristics. Sunlight Rock is the highest point on the island, offering a 360° panoramic view of the entire island, Xiamen Island, and the Taiwan Strait; it's said that "a trip to Xiamen isn't complete without climbing Sunlight Rock." Shuzhuang Garden, the private residence of Taiwanese tycoon Lin Erjia, blends the sea and mountains into its landscape, a fusion of Jiangnan garden design and natural scenery. Its piano museum houses nearly a hundred antique pianos. Haoyue Garden features a 15.7-meter-high granite statue of Zheng Chenggong, facing the sea, built to commemorate the national hero's recapture of Taiwan. The Bagua Building is a landmark on the island, fusing Chinese and Western architectural aesthetics, and houses hundreds of antique organs. Yu Garden, Gulang Rock, and Yanweishan Ecological Park, among other cultural and natural landscapes, are scattered throughout the island, connecting centuries of local customs and poetic mountain and sea views. Visitor Tips How to get to the island: You need to take a ferry from Xiamen Island Ferry Terminal. There is no general admission ticket, but you need to buy separate tickets or a combo ticket for the main attractions. Transportation: The entire island can be explored on foot. Electric sightseeing vehicles are available for a fee. Motor vehicles are prohibited. Recommended season: Suitable for all seasons, but spring and autumn (April-May and October-November) have comfortable weather and are the best time to visit, when bougainvillea is in full bloom.China · Xiamen

Wuyishan National Park

Wuyishan National Park is located in the northern section of the Wuyishan mountain range in northwestern Fujian, stretching across the border area between Fujian and Jiangxi provinces. It is one of China's first established national parks, and Wuyishan itself was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for both culture and nature as early as 1999. The park was formed by integrating the former Wuyishan National Nature Reserve and Wuyishan Scenic Area: the Tongmu area in the north focuses on ecological conservation and scientific research, preserving a rare intact mid-subtropical forest ecosystem at this latitude. The main peak of the Wuyishan range, Mount Huanggang, is also located here, and this core area does not offer regular tourism activities. Sightseeing activities are concentrated in the scenic areas along both banks of the Nine-bend Stream, namely the four major sections: Tianyou Peak to Taoyuan Cave, Nine-bend Stream to Wuyi Palace, One-line Sky to Tiger Roaring Rock, and Dahongpao to Water Curtain Cave. The attractions in the scenic area are relatively scattered with considerable distance between them. A leisurely visit typically requires two to three days. If you only have one day, start by ascending Tianyou Peak for a panoramic view of the emerald waters and crimson mountains along the Nine-bend Stream, then take a bamboo raft downstream from Xingcun Wharf. Along the way, you'll pass landmarks like Jade Maiden Peak, Great King Peak, cliff inscriptions, and suspended boat coffins. The rafting journey ends at Wuyi Palace, making it an ideal classic route. Tea enthusiasts may prefer spending time on the leisurely Rock Bone Floral Trail between Dahongpao and Water Curtain Cave. This gentle path connects core Wuyi rock tea production areas like Liuxiangjian and Huiyuankeng, offering a uniquely fragrant experience. With two days, you can cover all four major sections. For more time, consider visiting the ancient tea merchants' residences in Xiamei Village, the starting point of the ancient Tea Horse Road, or exploring the ruins of the Minyue King's City near Chengcun Village—the latter also being part of Wuyishan's world heritage site. Bamboo rafting is very popular, so please make arrangements in advance during peak season. To get close to the ecological heart of the park, you can take the Wuyishan National Park No. 1 scenic route. Places like Moon Bay and Qinglong Waterfall are suitable for self-drive or private charter. As for food, street snacks like flat meat dumplings and Vietnamese noodles are common, while Langu smoked goose and local dishes cooked with alpine bamboo shoots and mushrooms are also worth trying.China · Wuyishan

This is my third trip here, and this time I specifically stayed overnight to see the night view. The night view is beautiful; the houses are stacked one on top of another, creating a spectacular sight. Prices in the village are also reasonable, especially the herbal pig's trotter soup—a big pot for only 58 yuan, which is a real bargain. However, the steamed mushrooms with tea oil are just so-so; don't order them.

It's fun, but don't go if you're under 14, because you can't play anything except climbing, and the children's ticket is 125, which is a bit of a waste. It's okay for adults to play.

It's OK. The air is fresh and the scenery is nice. It's just that I went there at the wrong season. I will choose a better season to come again next time.

Five stars! The night view of Wangxian Valley truly lives up to its reputation; the cliffside pavilions are dazzlingly lit, resembling a fairyland. I recommend entering in the afternoon. Enjoy the canyon and streams during the day, and then experience the daytime and nighttime views at dusk when the lights come on – perfect for taking stunning photos. The park has excellent facilities, and online ticketing and ID card entry are very convenient. Definitely worth a special trip!

The main attractions included in the package ticket are Shuzhuang, Sunlight Rock, and the Palace Museum. There's also an organ performance in the Bagua Building. Otherwise, you can skip the rest. The price is similar to snowboarding, but one yard saves some time.
