Anonymous userThe weekend wasn't crowded, making for a great experience. You can take a boat to two islands. The first, Longxing Island, requires following the signs to avoid backtracking; a complete loop takes about an hour. There are two convenient elevators leading up the mountain, but it felt like an unexpected climb, and there wasn't much scenery along the way, just some squirrels, rabbits, and butterflies. We skipped the second island, Tea Island, as it's 40 yuan per person for a speedboat ride to the exit. The island itself wasn't very interesting, but the boat ride on the lake was nice. The fish head hotpot and tofu dishes at the Tianmu Lake Hotel near the scenic area entrance were delicious and incredibly fresh.
