Tulou (earthen buildings) are in Fujian, specifically in Zhangzhou and Nanjing. Based on this knowledge, I gradually determined my destinations for visiting Tulou. I chose Yunshuiyao because it's close to Tianluokeng, and there are local day tours available, allowing me to fulfill all my expectations for Tulou in a single day. This choice proved extremely correct; one day is sufficient. Don't stay overnight, because the highlights and all your expectations for Tulou are fully realized upon seeing the first building. After that, it becomes lackluster. I know there are other Tulou clusters besides those in Nanjing, such as the Yongding Tulou cluster, but regardless of the location, one or two sites a day is enough. Although many people say Yunshuiyao is newly built and man-made, it's just a name. The area under the jurisdiction of the Yunshuiyao Scenic Area is a real natural village with actual residents. We walked 2 kilometers from the north parking lot to the south parking lot, and apart from the designated attractions, everything we saw and felt was the daily life of the local villagers: unidentified vegetables drying on the walls, a small village temple with thriving incense, and various crops and orchards along the way. This alone proves it's not fake! Besides visiting the Tulou (earthen buildings) and experiencing the local customs, Yunshuiyao also has the awareness of a scenic area. The large banyan tree and waterwheel in the south-central part is the core area of ​​Yunshuiyao, the most scenic spot. There are rows of commercial streets, shops, and people. While not picturesque, it's acceptable, and I was willing to take a few photos: the primitive stone bridge, the super-large banyan tree I'm used to seeing in Fuzhou, and the clean, clear stream. Water and folk songs are all there; it seems only the clouds were missing that day… The stalls in Yunshuiyao are quite affordable, with prices all under 10 yuan. The red bananas, mini pineapples, and kiwano with honey were all pretty good. I finally got to eat some delicious kiwano! So that's how you eat it! No wonder mine tasted like cucumbers…

It's a combined ticket, valid for entry within three days. There are quite a few steps between the entrance to the Chuxi Tulou Cluster and the electric shuttle bus stop, which isn't very convenient for disabled people and the elderly.
