Buying tickets online was very convenient, but the entrances to the scenic area weren't clearly marked, leaving me unsure of which way to go! The buses to the scenic area were all private minibuses with no clear boarding points, making the management seem rather chaotic. The scenic area itself was still very fun and worth visiting! It was my first time soaking in the waterfall hot springs; the waterfalls were spectacular, and the scenery was beautiful! However, there were still no clear maps of the scenic area, and you had to climb up to find the location of each pool! Overall, I feel the management of the scenic area needs improvement!
Luoji Mountain Ninety-Nine-Li Hot Spring is located in Qiaowo Town, Puge County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, specifically in the Dacaohe Canyon.
It's about a 45-kilometer drive from Xichang City. Before going, I thought it was just an ordinary hot spring, but upon arrival, I discovered its biggest feature is its hot spring waterfall. The hot spring water flows down a cliff halfway up the mountain, forming a 200-meter-wide waterfall with a 50-meter drop, certified as the "world's largest hot spring waterfall."
Soaking in the hot spring under the waterfall is a wonderful experience. Warm water flows overhead, surrounded by canyon scenery—a truly unique experience.
The scenic area stretches along the canyon, boasting "ninety-nine li, ninety-nine scenic spots." While that might be an exaggeration, there are indeed many different hot spring pools: cave hot springs, cliffside hot springs, and hot spring islands scattered throughout the mountains. Each pool has a different temperature and view, allowing for leisurely exploration! … Best time to visit: I personally think spring and autumn are the most comfortable seasons, with mild weather and abundant waterfall water. Soaking in hot springs is great in winter, but it can be quite cold on the way there.

Luoji Mountain is a north-south trending mountain range located in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It is named for its shape, which resembles the spiral-shaped hair bun of an ancient maiden. The main peak, Bian'e'eha, reaches an altitude of 4354.2 meters (as of 2023). Spanning Xichang, Puge, and Dechang counties, it covers a total area of approximately 2450 square kilometers. The mountain is composed of Sinian sandstone and conglomerate, preserving Quaternary glacial relics such as cirques and glacial grooves. It contains over 50 glacial lakes, the largest of which is Dahai Lake. The mountain exhibits distinct vertical climate characteristics, with vegetation including Yunnan pine forests, fir primeval forests, over 30 species of wild rhododendrons, and alpine meadows, creating a magnificent sea of flowers every May. It is home to national first-class protected plants such as silver-leaf osmanthus and fragrant fruit trees, and is inhabited by rare animals such as red pandas and serows. It is also rich in medicinal herbs such as cordyceps and fritillaria, as well as mineral deposits of gold, silver, and copper. The scenic area includes natural landscapes such as hot spring waterfalls and colorful lakes. The mountain climate is changeable; while riding the cable car up and down the mountain, the sky is blue and the clouds are white, but when you reach Dahai Lake, it's shrouded in mist, offering a unique view. When you first enter the forest, the sun is out, but after a while, it starts to drizzle. The climate here is pleasant, and the scenery is extremely beautiful!
It's a sunny day today. The altitude of Xiancao Lake is about 3800 meters. The cable car time is quite long. It takes more than ten minutes one way, which is quite worth it. I took the cable car up and down for this trip, and basically set aside four hours for the tour. The lake is very beautiful on a sunny day. There are few people in the off-season. Passing through Xichang, we visited Qionghai Lake, located in Xichang City, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It is the second largest freshwater lake in Sichuan Province. Anciently known as Qiongchi, it is a rift lake from the Early Pleistocene, formed approximately 1.8 million years ago. Xichang, the capital of Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, is best known as a satellite launch site and for Qionghai Lake, which circumferentially spans over 30 kilometers.
Xichang is definitely worth a visit, and Qionghai is a must. Remember to rent a power-assisted bicycle, not an electric bicycle. Only power-assisted bicycles can enter the scenic area. We didn’t know we rented an electric bicycle on the first day, so we just walked around the outer circle. On the second day, we rented power-assisted bicycles and walked inside the scenic area. The scenery is super good and the area is very large, which is super suitable for a ride. The Liangshan burgers are delicious. Some are very spicy and some have millet peppers. You can put less pepper 🌶 Liangshan snow is delicious, Tuotuo meat is delicious, and strawberries 🍓 are really cheap.

Lugu Lake was incredibly beautiful, even better than expected. The staff throughout the scenic area were incredibly welcoming, especially the mother and daughter who rowed the pig trough boat at Wuzhiluo Wharf. Their service was incredibly warm and attentive, leaving our whole family with a truly wonderful experience! Parking at every attraction in the scenic area was incredibly convenient and mostly free. Great review!
The lake itself is beautiful, sunny or cloudy, each has its own beauty. But the infrastructure seems to be very poor, whether in Sichuan or Yunnan, at least the road conditions around the lake are not very good.
