It's well worth a visit. Looking down from the mountain, you feel inexplicably moved, both by the scenery and by the wisdom and creativity of the ancients, who have blessed future generations. Their love for their family and country is truly admirable and something to be proud of.
Location: A bit far from Chengdu, requiring a transfer from high-speed rail to an intercity train. South Bridge is right outside Dujiangyan, with plenty of food and drink options nearby. Crowds: Even after the National Day holiday, it was still very crowded on a rainy day. Near the Fish Mouth after Anlan Bridge, there was a queue for the sightseeing bus, which costs extra. Sightseeing Experience: It's better when it's sunny and not raining, offering panoramic views of Dujiangyan from a high vantage point. Rain and fog make it difficult to see anything, so it's not worth the effort. The advantage of rain is the large water flow, which is spectacular. There's a queue for photos at the Dujiangyan Monument; there are no signs indicating this, so I ended up queuing for quite a while thinking I was visiting a tourist attraction. A leisurely visit might take 2-3 hours; on a rainy day, 1 hour is enough. In short: Good weather is fine, and light rain is also acceptable, but heavy rain might be a bad time to head home.

Check out Du Fu Thatched Cottage! Passing through the rustic wooden gate, a thatched pavilion nestled among bamboo groves houses the inscription "Shaoling Thatched Cottage," while the statue of the poet saint in front of the Grand Hall is both solemn and approachable. Every blade of grass and every tree is imbued with the charm of Tang poetry, as if you can hear the recitations from a thousand years ago—it's definitely worth it.
If you are a Chinese literature and poetry buff this is a place that is a “must visit”. Walls adorned with poetry and beautifully manicured gardens. Grounds are walkable and accurately reconstructed according to Du Fu’s poetry and writing. for families with young kids with a limited grasp of Chinese and Chinese literature (such as mine) - I would strongly strongly suggest going to People’s Park instead. Nevertheless, we burned many calories carrying the youngest one around the gardens while we dragged the rest behind us on a frosty cold morning. 😬 Tips: the map was not accurate and made us quite confused. audio guides not helpful as there were English translations on the boards for most areas. As of December 2025 - there is massive construction going on at the main road around this site - good luck trying to get your didi driver to drop you at the correct spot. 😵‍💫 on the bright side there will be a new subway hopefully by 2026! Chengdu progresses at an impressive pace.

Mount Emei is the sacred site of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, and it's worth a visit. The high-speed rail journey from the station to Leidongping takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes. After getting off, it's about a 30-minute hike (there are monkeys along the way) to the cable car station. The cable car takes 3 minutes to ascend the mountain, followed by a 10-minute hike to the Golden Summit. A visit to the Golden Summit takes about 1 hour. The road from Leidongping to Wannian Temple is under construction until the end of the year, so the bus service and the Wannian Temple cable car are suspended. Currently, only the Leidongping-Huanglong Visitor Center-Wuxiangang bus service runs intermittently, but there may be at least a 30-minute wait when there are few passengers. The journey from Leidongping to Wuxiangang takes about 2 hours. Arriving at the Monkey Nature Reserve in the afternoon, I didn't see a single monkey.

The Wuhou Temple is definitely worth visiting. I went there with a sense of reverence because I love reading "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" and admire Zhuge Liang. I saw the two memorials to the emperor, many rubbings, and statues of Liu Bei, Zhuge Liang, and many other heroes of Shu Han. The environment inside is also quite nice, and many tourists were taking photos.
I visited Wuhou Temple again, and this time I decided to immerse myself in the experience. I hired a professional guide, and Director Ding handled the nearly 3-hour tour with ease. He explained the history, debunked myths, and even prepared a lot of materials himself. It was a very informative afternoon!

The Leshan Giant Buddha is definitely worth visiting. You can quickly see the other attractions; two hours is enough for the entire scenic area. There are many yellow taxis at the entrance. Remember the North Gate (entrance) and East Gate (exit). The North and East Gates are very close, about 300 meters apart, so there's no need to spend money on the shuttle bus. Remember to use reputable ride-hailing apps.
This is my second time visiting the Giant Buddha! Compared to my first visit, the facilities and staff management in the park have improved significantly! The cultural and creative products inside the park are also excellent!

Mount Qingcheng is definitely worth visiting if you enjoy nature, culture, and a peaceful atmosphere. Compared to many famous mountains in China, it feels calm and refreshing rather than crowded or rushed. The mountain is covered in lush greenery, and walking through the forest paths is relaxing from start to finish. One of the highlights is the Taoist culture. Temples like Jianfu Palace, Tianshi Cave, and Shangqing Palace are beautifully integrated into the mountain and add a quiet, spiritual feeling to the journey. Even if you’re not deeply interested in religion, the scenery and history are still very enjoyable. The trails are well maintained and suitable for most fitness levels. I recommend going in the morning for cooler weather and fewer people. Wear comfortable shoes and take your time—this is a place to slow down and enjoy the surroundings.Overall, Mount Qingcheng is perfect for travelers who want nature, history, and a relaxing escape from the city.
It's really worth it. Visiting one place a day would be better. (Although there are tourist buses, I'd prefer to take the city buses to experience the local area, but unfortunately the city buses stop running a bit early in the evening.)

Western Sichuan is a place that captivates visitors, because it always holds hidden beauty that you won't give up until you see it for yourself. The drive to the end of the scenic area takes about 40 minutes, because the most beautiful scenery always resides deep within your heart.
Very worth to go. I went on summer august 2025 which is not high season. Many people but still ok. A bit rain when i went to the top of the mountain.

There's a place called Daocheng, you absolutely must go there with your loved one! Hahaha, the altitude fluctuates wildly, so be sure to prepare well to avoid altitude sickness. Altitude sickness causes a throbbing headache and is very uncomfortable, which will definitely affect your enjoyment of the scenery. If you can, you should definitely try the Vajra Line (a scenic route), and Milk Lake and Five-Color Lake are definitely worth seeing!
The scenery in Daocheng Yading is incredibly beautiful. We went in October, and the scenery was even more stunning then. It's really a great deal! Go check it out!

It's a bit chilly this time of year, but the scenery is still beautiful. The lake water is azure, and a stroll along the shore under the warm sun is very pleasant. Many migratory birds are spending the winter in the lake.
Driving around Lugu Lake was so comfortable! The roads were easy to drive on, parking was convenient, and it was truly a paradise on earth. We took a boat from Puluo Wharf and saw the morning mist. The locals were all very friendly. The stone pot fish was delicious, and the apples were also very tasty.

สถานที่สวยงามมาก สิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกค่อนข้างดี แต่มีค่าใช้จ่ายใช้รถไฟฟ้ายิบย่อยรายทางเยอะไปหน่อย
This trip exceeded my expectations! The itinerary was well-paced, covering all the essential attractions without any forced shopping. A special shout-out to our tour guide—he was incredibly knowledgeable, his explanations were witty and humorous, and he took excellent care of everyone, patiently answering all our questions. The accommodations and transportation were also very well arranged. It was a worry-free and enjoyable trip—five stars! And that wood-fired chicken was delicious! 😋
