Compared to photos, the scenic area itself offers a richer experience. You can touch the rocky cliffs with your own hands. Although the climbing can be a little scary, the Buddha statues are much clearer in front of you, making it worth the trip.
I visited Jiuzhaigou on a rainy day, but the park itself is very well organised. Everything runs smoothly, and the overall management really impressed me.I noticed that many elderly visitors prefer to arrive very early in the morning, but I chose a more relaxed pace — waking up, having breakfast, and entering the park without rushing. Once inside, shuttle buses take you straight to the furthest points of the park, allowing you to explore from the inside out and slowly make your way back toward the entrance.The buses are frequent and convenient, making it easy to move from one scenic spot to another. There are also large food courts within the park, though they can get quite crowded during peak hours.Restrooms are available at every scenic area, and honestly, they were much cleaner than I expected — even by China standards. Despite the rain, the visit was comfortable and enjoyable, and the organisation made a big difference.

This was my second visit to the Chengdu Research Base of Panda Breeding. The first time was two years ago when I spent two hours queuing to see Hua Hua. This time, I went straight to Xingxing's maternity ward to see the level 25 panda cub, Xiao Huihui. The base is huge; if you want to see everything, you should take the shuttle bus.
Must see in Chengdu. The Panda Research centre itself is very big. You can use Didi or use their shuttle service at the nearest metro. Highly recommend to enter the site using west gate as it is less crowded than other entrance. On site shuttle (about 30 RMB) is highly suggested to use as the park itself is very big and hilly.

This is a place with a rich cultural heritage; I should visit it more often. I didn't get to climb Yulei Mountain today, but I saw the Fish Mouth, Feisha Weir, and Baopingkou. The weather was also nice today. I'll definitely come again next time.
Dujiangyan Scenic Area is a national 5A-level scenic area. It boasts well-developed facilities and a beautiful environment, featuring water conservancy projects dating back over two thousand years, pavilions, Taoist temples, ancient trees, and remnants of the ancient Tea Horse Road. It's well worth a leisurely visit.

If you are a Chinese literature and poetry buff this is a place that is a “must visit”. Walls adorned with poetry and beautifully manicured gardens. Grounds are walkable and accurately reconstructed according to Du Fu’s poetry and writing. for families with young kids with a limited grasp of Chinese and Chinese literature (such as mine) - I would strongly strongly suggest going to People’s Park instead. Nevertheless, we burned many calories carrying the youngest one around the gardens while we dragged the rest behind us on a frosty cold morning. 😬 Tips: the map was not accurate and made us quite confused. audio guides not helpful as there were English translations on the boards for most areas. As of December 2025 - there is massive construction going on at the main road around this site - good luck trying to get your didi driver to drop you at the correct spot. 😵💫 on the bright side there will be a new subway hopefully by 2026! Chengdu progresses at an impressive pace.
I visited Du Fu Thatched Cottage a week ago, and I still find it beautiful. Who understands? The place where Du Fu lived was so charming; every plant and tree in the courtyard was perfectly arranged, showcasing impeccable aesthetics.
I especially remember the Orchid Garden, with dozens of potted orchids neatly arranged, incredibly elegant, instantly reminding me of the Lingering Garden in Suzhou. Although I can't recall many details, that serene feeling is unforgettable.

Beautiful Emei Mountain! It was rainy at Leidongping and the foot of the mountain, but the moment the sun shone down at Jieyin Hall, it warmed my heart. The weather at the Golden Summit and halfway up the mountain is different. You can experience ringing the bell at the Bell Tower, and on a clear day, you can even see Mount Gongga, the highest mountain in Sichuan (bring sunglasses, the sunlight is very strong). And if you're there at sunrise or sunset, how can you not mention the golden sunrise over the mountain in a different sense? This year is a leap year, and the day after I left, Emei Mountain had its first winter snow of 2025.

The Wuhou Temple is definitely worth visiting. I went there with a sense of reverence because I love reading "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" and admire Zhuge Liang. I saw the two memorials to the emperor, many rubbings, and statues of Liu Bei, Zhuge Liang, and many other heroes of Shu Han. The environment inside is also quite nice, and many tourists were taking photos.
I visited Wuhou Temple again, and this time I decided to immerse myself in the experience. I hired a professional guide, and Director Ding handled the nearly 3-hour tour with ease. He explained the history, debunked myths, and even prepared a lot of materials himself. It was a very informative afternoon!

The autumn break brought an insane number of people; it was so crowded you could barely move. The scenery was just heads everywhere. Although it's a Taoist holy site, the level of commercialization far exceeded my expectations. The cultural aspects probably require explanation; simply visiting doesn't offer much of an experience. However, the scenery on the back mountain is truly beautiful, and the entrance fee is only 20 yuan. Compared to that, the front mountain seems like a poor value for money.
Qingcheng Mountain has beautiful scenery. On a sunny day, the sun shines brightly, and the scenery is stunning. You can take the cable car up and walk down. I'd love to go again sometime, though it's a bit tiring on the legs. It's important to exercise more and get out more often. The air in Qingcheng Mountain is truly excellent; I highly recommend a visit.

This was my second visit to Huanglong, and every step revealed a breathtaking view. It was early November, the peak season for autumn foliage, and the weather was perfect – clear skies and pleasant weather. Personally, I prefer Huanglong to Jiuzhaigou; the scenery is different, and there are far fewer people. Buying tickets through Ctrip was convenient and quick.
less crowded and icy landscape. Should take cable car to go up (it was working on the day I visited in December winter) and walk for 3.2km to the top. This route has a beautiful viewing platform.
