Had the worst night's sleep ever here. Didn't realise it was a hostel when booking it and was woken on Easter Sunday morning at 4am by loads of shouting teenagers and just as you drop off at 5am it starts again. We had an early train to catch out of Aachen, so this was really disruptive. Walls are paper thin too, the only upside was you couldn't hear anything outside through the windows! No tea or coffee in the room, just a basic room with shower and separate toilet area, no storage area for luggage either. There was a bar area in the reception. Be mindful that Trip.com does not have this place listed as a hostel.FromUS$13

This hotel is located in the center of Aachen. Everything is nearby. It is very clean. The food was great also. What we were not very satisfied of was the service. They don't have a refrigerator in the room neither a phone. We called them from an outside line to ask for an extra banket. They asked as to come down to the reception desk to get it or we would have to wait for a while. This does not seem like a room service to me. The next morning we went down to the lounge and asked just for a coffee, since breakfast was not included in our reservation, and they asked us to go outside of the hotel, get one from a coffee shop and bring it to the hotel to drink it. Odd! The other day, in the same occassion they said that we could order one and they would bring it to the lounge for us. All these happened with a very friendly and polite staf. Anyway.FromUS$75

The 15-square-meter room is compact but just enough. The bathroom spray water is large and constant temperature and comfortable. The hotel is in a good location, on the edge of the Aachen Cathedral Scenic Area, not on the most lively street, but very close to the center. This hotel far exceeded my expectations! I once stayed at a highly-rated hotel in Cologne that cost twice as much, and while it had a more artistic decor, the amenities were actually quite similar. The room here was larger than I expected, with a coat rack, a desk, two round stools, and an adjustable TV mount. There's enough space for one suitcase, though two might be a bit of a squeeze. Getting around by train and bus is very convenient, and it's less than a twenty-minute walk to the Old Town. The design is well-thought-out and clever, and the cleanliness is exceptional. The bathroom is quite small, but manageable unless you're very large; the shower door opens completely, which helps. Most of the hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. However, like many German hotels, there's nothing in the room, so having to ask for hot water repeatedly can be a bit tiresome for introverts. Still, the staff were always very accommodating. My only suggestion would be for extra pillows; there were only two on the bed, and I was told there were no spares when I asked for an extra. The Hotel staff were excellent and really friendly, professional and really great service in every aspect. The Hotel website says it has a Restaurant which is why I booked it as I didn’t want to go anywhere else. Unfortunately this is not the case, I was told there are no Restaurant facilities due to the lack of a cook. The Bar offers Pizzas which was not particularly Good.
