Our stay at the NH Collection Calderón was simply excellent from start to finish. From the moment we checked in, we were made to feel welcome, with warm, professional, and genuinely friendly service from the entire hotel team.
The location is fantastic for exploring Barcelona on foot, and the facilities perfectly combine comfort, elegance, and the city's architectural charm. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and very well-maintained, allowing for a good rest after a full day exploring Barcelona.
But what really made the difference were the people. The staff were always willing to help, answer questions, and offer assistance with a smile. On several occasions, we received attention that went far beyond what was expected, demonstrating a true commitment to their guests' experience.
Once again, we confirmed something that always impresses us about Spain: the extraordinary culture of service and hospitality they have towards tourism. They make you feel welcome, comfortable, and valued. This natural way of looking after people turns a trip into a memorable experience.

From the moment I stepped into the hotel, from the greeter at the door, front desk staff, and lobby manager to the restaurant and bar, and room service, every single staff member greeted me with a smile and offered warm, attentive service. This truly showcased the quality of an established five-star hotel. While the furniture, bathroom facilities, and amenities in the room were indeed a bit dated, which is common in many older European hotels, the professional, warm, and thoughtful service completely made up for these shortcomings. The breakfast, once rated as the best in Europe, certainly lived up to its reputation. The rooftop bar offers a fantastic view of the Sagrada Familia. The hotel's location is superb, right in the middle of Passeig de Gràcia, surrounded by various restaurants, bars, and convenience stores. The room was spacious, and the bedding was comfortable. The W Hotel boasts the best location on Barcelona beach. I recommend booking a high-floor room if possible; the sunrise views in the morning are absolutely stunning. After checking in, I suggest heading straight to the beach. The hotel has its own small private beach area accessible from the basement level, and guests get complimentary use of sun loungers and towels. The outdoor pool on the ground floor is fantastic, with many European and American tourists enjoying the sun. My tip is to have breakfast early, as the number of sun loungers on either side of the pool is limited. On Sunday evenings, the hotel hosts a pool party, which is free for guests with a room card. Non-guests have to queue and pay an entrance fee, and the atmosphere at the pool party is really great.FromUS$497

We stayed for 4 nights and were grateful to the hotel for upgrading our room. The hotel is very new, with double sinks in the bathroom, and the shower facilities are modern and clean. The amenities provided are also high-end, and the bedding is comfortable, ensuring a really good night's sleep.
The service was excellent; the Chinese ladies at the front desk were warm and friendly, and they answered all our questions enthusiastically – a definite highlight! The hotel breakfast was good, and you could even order complimentary pancakes or omelets, so getting a full meal was no problem at all.
The location of the hotel is fantastic, with many highly-rated restaurants nearby, making it super convenient for getting around. A 5-minute walk to the left takes you to Casa Milà, and about a 15-minute walk brings you to Casa Batlló (where you'll also find the Gràcia metro and train stations). Turning right and walking for 5 minutes leads you to Provença metro station, which is very handy for getting to Mount Tibidabo. All in all, we were extremely satisfied with our 5-day, 4-night stay in Barcelona, and I highly recommend this hotel!FromUS$238

NO AC!!! BEWARE! our family could not sleep at all the room was consistently between 26 and 28 degree celsius even it’s in January when outside is like 5 degrees, the hotel should have noted they have AC or ventilation problem so travelers can decide respectfully.
What a pity as location and staff are amazing. Our one bedroom is also good size for a family of 3. They had technician checked and cleaned the filters, we opened windows in the bedroom and living room (no use) Room was still hot, they end up providing 2 not-too-strong fans and managed to add circulation to the rooms. Our toddler couldn’t fall asleep until 11pm and we couldn’t stop sweating. It was a very difficult and long night for us especially after a full day of walking and an early flight to catch next day. I want to emphasize the staff are amazing throughout, this is entirely the hotel’s facility problem.
At check out another hotel guest came over and shared her room had no AC and circulation she could not sleep the whole night as well. Looking at google reviews it’s obvious this was not a “one off” incident apparently it’s been an ongoing issue dated even 5 yrs ago.
We brought a baby monitor and you can see the temp on the little screen.
If not because of this problem we will definitely return and recommend but unfortunately hotel failed to fix this ongoing issue nor did they notify guests beforehand.FromUS$219

Our best stay in Spain. The staffs were all friendly. I only managed to catch a few people’s names like Anass, Raquel, Sebastian but everyone (front desk, concierge, housekeeping, breakfast staffs) in the hotel made us feel very welcome and comfortable. For example, Sebastian offered a pair of scissors without us even asking when he saw us repacking our luggage at the lobby. Everyday we went out and returned, everyone would greet us. We truly felt the warm welcome and friendliness of the Spanish through them. Very glad to book this hotel even though the hotel may be slightly more expensive than other hotels in Barcelona. Housekeeping seems to be done twice daily too (they will leave us chocolates on our bed every evening which is extremely sweet of them). Housekeeping team also sprayed fragrance on our little pillows which we brought with us on the trip (no other hotels have done so for us into past).
One more thing to add is that the showers in the hotel are full glass so it lacks privacy. We did not know this beforehand but only upon our check in. Anass and team assisted us the next day to stick privacy film to make us more comfortable.
A pity is that the Michelin starred restaurant located in the hotel is closed from Sunday to Tuesday, so we could not get to try it. The breakfast is the same every morning too but it was alright.
We would definitely return to the hotel if we are in Barcelona again. Gracias Team Ohla Barcelona! 100/100FromUS$324

My favorite hotel I've stayed in recently. The room is very exquisitely decorated and tasteful, and the overall color tone is very comfortable. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. I was impressed by the floor of the shower room. It was like stepping on the rocks by the sea. Although it was a bit rough, it was very non-slip and made you feel like you were at the beach in a second. Our family of four booked two rooms. The hotel was very considerate to connect the two rooms together, which made it very convenient for us to use.
The location is also very good, walking distance to Casa Batlló, and shopping is also very convenient. The bakery across the street and the brunch at the restaurant across the road are very delicious.FromUS$617

Everything about this hotel is pure 5 stars luxury. We got 2 connecting rooms for a family of 4, and this layout of the rooms are perfect for our stay. Location is on the high end shopping belt of the city. Feels very secure. The concierge and receptionists at the hotel are wonderful at making you feel welcome, super professional. A little nick-pick would be the rooftop bar restaurant, we wish the standard of the food could be better. We had a dinner there on our first day, and we are not blown away by the quality of the food and it took really long for them to serve even though it isn’t quite busy. That was the reason why we didn’t feel comfortable going ahead with the breakfast and the 3-Star Michelin restaurant in the same hotel. 🙏FromUS$390

We checked in quite late on the first day, and the front desk gentleman, perhaps noticing we were staying for 7 nights, kindly upgraded us to a club room. It was an amazing experience waking up to a direct view of the Sagrada Familia, and just around the corner, you could see the Mediterranean Sea – it really brightened my day! The room was spacious, and so was the bathroom. For breakfast, there was a buffet, plus a à la carte menu with various egg preparations, all beautifully presented and delicious.
