Like most all-inclusive resorts, the food and drink quality isn't great. Don't go in expecting anything different. Even the themed restaurants offer very mediocre food and drinks. There's plenty of it, but not much quality. The facilities are in excellent condition. The suites are always clean and well-maintained. The service, in general, is okay. It's important to bring small bills for tips, as the service always improves when you do. The staff always expect to be tipped. Another point to consider is the size of the complex. Since it's so large, we had to take internal transportation to get to the beach or for breakfast, for example. One area for improvement is that they could do a better job promoting the available attractions, both included and extra. Because the resort is so big and has so many guests, personalized service is more difficult. But overall, it was worth it for the value.FromUS$120

It has been a pleasant stay. The customer service provided by the hotel has been satisfactory in general. The all-inclusive offer could be improved from my point of view. And for that price it could have included the transfer. Improvable facilities, especially the gym, which is not suitable for this hotel, is very small and inaccessible, it seems like a maze to enter. And the spa is also very poor and not even included in the offer of the all-inclusive package with a superior room. When in Spain 90% is included both services, transfer and spa. Great hotel, great chain, but my face of satisfaction for some other things remains indifferent for that reason... The variety in the food buffet was not too much either... it is compensated by the customer service and the environment of virgin beaches. The complex is nice and the rooms are comfy.
I sent an email with some questions / request a week before arrival and they never replied.
The food quality wasn't great, my father got intoxicated with something there and we also found a piece of hair in the food. Some people were a bit rude. Zero options for gluten free. The reception and cafes are far from the rooms so you need to take a minibus which is not confortable. Restaurants were always fully booked but they looked empty when walking around.FromUS$122

Most of the waiters can’t communicate well in English, causing many things to go wrong. The restaurant requires an appointment except for the two buffets. The food in the international restaurant is very dirty. My friend ordered an appetizer. There were more than 10 bugs on the table. The scene of climbing out of the food is shocking and the restaurant is very inefficient but the hotel is well located. A taxi from Punta Cana Airport is 30 dollars, downtown is 10 dollars, and Blue mall is 25 dollars.FromUS$215

The hotel is beautiful.Excellent food. We stayed in a LEVEL (VIP) room and we were very disappointed since it was old, it smells very moist. neither TV nor jacucci worked, we warned and never fixed it.

The service at Bahia Principe was really quite good. Friendly workers at the front desk and concierge/transportation kiosk really helped. The facilities at Bahia Principe are not up to snuff however. The room was old and tired- in need of much care. For example, there were five lamps/lights in the room and two had light bulbs out. My wife wanted to read at night but there was not enough lighting in the room to even read a book for 15 minutes. The small fridge never worked. But the ants on the coach took the cake. No, they literally were on the hunt for cake in the room! If you want a really solid looking property then book at Ambar, not Principe.
On a positive note the mattress and pillows were comfortable.
One other note and seemed very kid friendly... But the property is huge! So huge that many people will want to take the trams to the beach- which was packed and not the best beach in Punta Cana. Later today I will be reviewing the Majestic Colonial which we also stayed in for a week. Want treated like you're a king or queen? This resort was beautiful and had lots to do. Children are allowed, there’s a kids area and even a teen hang out. There are multiple pools and a beach. There are about 5 specialty restaurants that open at night, but require reservations—I ate at Fogo and it was delicious. During the day, there’s a buffet snack bar, coffee shop, and icecream bar available, plus a sports bar that’s open 24/7. In the evenings, the lobby has entertainment, including shows and a DJ.
Theres a trolly that comes every few minutes to take you around the resort if you don’t want to walk. One of my favorite parts was the beautiful wildlife roaming the resort and the amazing service staff—most were very friendly and welcoming. I wouldn’t consider this a party resort; it’s more geared toward families and low-key fun. Definitely check out the beach bar—John and Gerson are fantastic bartenders, very friendly and entertaining. There’s also a snack buffet there that overlooks the beach, so you can enjoy a nice breeze while you eat.
I traveled Solo. My only downside was the rooms. They each had a balcony, and really could have been great, but cleanliness could be greatly improved. I had to change rooms twice—first due to the AC not working, then because the balcony door wouldn’t lock. All 3 rooms weren’t very clean mainly the bathrooms. Im not a picky person so By the third room I had both locked doors and ac, so I just went with it lol. On the positive side, they did upgrade me to a larger room, which I appreciated. I did feel like some of the front desk staff was not very friendly or accommodating. Neither of those issues were my fault and it seem like a bother or hassle for them to swap my room.
Overall, it’s a lovely resort with great amenities, and a relaxing atmosphere. I’d recommend it if you’re looking for a safe, beautiful place to unwind with family or enjoy a laid-back vacation.FromUS$92
