I used to stay here frequently for business trips. Although the facilities are a bit dated, the location and breakfast (especially the chicken soup tofu skewers) are great, and the value for money is acceptable. This time, I brought my child and booked a family room. We arrived at 3:30 PM, and the front desk said the previous guests had checked out only half an hour ago and housekeeping was rushing to clean the room. I thought it would take 10 or 15 minutes at most, but after waiting for a while and asking again, I was told it would take 30-40 minutes to clean one room. I went to the front desk again to urge them, and only then did they contact housekeeping, eventually saying, ”It's almost ready, you can check in now.” The entire process, from arrival to check-in (including issues with the key card not working in the elevator and trying multiple times), dragged on until 4:05 PM, a full 35-minute wait. What I don't understand is, since we had already arrived, there were no other guests waiting, and it was 3:30 PM, a normal check-in time, why couldn't they assign two people to clean one room to speed things up? On top of that, the front desk staff (not the one with curly hair, but another person) had a very indifferent attitude and never offered a single apology throughout the entire process, making for a very poor experience. The hotel can review the surveillance footage to verify the objectivity of my statements.
Next time I'm on a business trip, I might have to look at other hotels. The service industry needs standardized procedures and the right people in these roles. I'm also from Changchun, and if service positions are filled through 'connections,' then consumers will simply vote with their feet.

Facilities: It's an old hotel with outdated facilities. They even used grout to patch gaps in the elevator, which looked really bad. The toilet paper holder in the room was loose and wobbly.

We stayed in this hotel during the Golden Week and booked a basic double room...you can imagine our surprise when we were upgraded for free in a beautiful and spacious suite! The room had 1 full bathroom with bathtub and another smaller bathroom with only the toilet and sink, a big living room with sofa, table and mini fridge, an office corner and a second room with bed, table, an ottoman and an amazing view!! The bed was extremely comfortable, even if a little small. The room also provided tea, coffee, several bottles of water and toiletries.
We also had breakfast included and I was pleasantly surprised by the choice of both Chinese food and some Western (croissants, small waffles, banana bread, fruits, yogurt, juice, jams and butter).
The location is pretty central but also far from crowds and noisy areas. There are 2 metros not too far away and the beautiful park Nan hu.

The bathroom had an extremely strong urine odor.

It's a 5-star hotel with an excellent location, cleanliness, and service. 👍 I was traveling with my child, and the front desk upgraded me to a deluxe suite on the 11th floor. I've traveled to many cities and stayed in many hotels, but one that particularly impressed me was the Garden Hotel in Guangzhou, a Platinum Five-Star hotel where I stayed in a suite. A hallmark of a good hotel is excellent service and thoughtful consideration for guests. Breakfast is also very Northeastern-style, featuring dumplings with three fresh fillings, fried bean buns, corn tortillas, steamed potatoes, and steamed eggplant. You have to wait in line for the wonton stew. There's also a wide variety of breads. However, some items were sold out quickly, and the replacement process was a bit slow.
