Airport Guide

Compare 4 airports near Coogee

For most travelers arriving in the region, Kingsford Smith Airport (SYD) is the only logical gateway. Located within the city of Sydney, it provides the most direct and frequent connections to Coogee, whether you prefer the budget-friendly local bus or the speedier airport train. The other three airports are located in neighboring cities and should generally be avoided unless you have specific travel requirements. Western Sydney International Airport (WSI) serves the developing western metropolitan area, requiring long road or transit journeys to reach the eastern coast. Shellharbour Airport (WOL) is situated in the Shellharbour City Council area to the south, serving the Illawarra region, while Williamtown Airport (NTL) serves the Newcastle and Port Stephens regions to the north. Travelers arriving at these remote airports will face multi-hour, expensive transfers that significantly detract from the value of any potentially cheaper flight fares. Always prioritize landing at the primary metropolitan airport to save time and stress.

There was a slight hiccup during check-in, but thankfully, Trip.com staff were incredibly proactive in communicating and resolving the issue, allowing me to smoothly check into a sea-view room that evening. The hotel service was exceptionally warm, even upgrading my room to a 270-degree panoramic view room. The expansive views made for an excellent experience. The only minor downside was that the hotel pool wasn't open yet, but you could get tickets for the beachfront pool at the front desk, which was just a 10-minute walk away.

The room was spacious, typical of a European or American hotel. It's within walking distance to the beach. While UNSW isn't too far to walk, it's all uphill. There's a good Thai restaurant next door and a supermarket right across the street.

I stayed in the female dorm at MAD Monkey Hostel Coogee Beach and had a really enjoyable experience. The location is amazing, just a short walk to Coogee Beach, with plenty of cafés, restaurants, and shops nearby. The female dorm was comfortable and had a friendly atmosphere. It was also a great place to meet other travellers, especially as a solo traveller. The common areas made it easy to socialise without feeling pressured. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere was fun and relaxed. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely consider staying here again when I’m back in Sydney!

Came to Sydney with my parents and was so surprised by how beautiful Coogee Beach is. The hotel is very close to the beach, and right outside is the main street with all sorts of restaurants and convenience stores. It's super convenient for shopping too. The beach gets even busier on weekends, with people playing ball and surfing – it's really lively. The only downside is that it's a bit pricey, so it's not ideal for a long stay.

This place is affordable and its location makes it convenient to get around. The podbeds are interesting and impressive similar to capsule hotels I lived before. The improvement that should be made is the air-con which needs to be quieter when turned on.
