Airport Guide

Compare 5 airports near Dubai

The primary gateway to the city is Dubai International Airport (DXB), located just 11.1 km from the center. As a major international hub, it offers the most efficient and budget-friendly transport via the Dubai Metro. Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), situated 37.2 km away, serves as a secondary international hub; it requires a combination of bus and metro or a private taxi, making it less convenient for a quick city arrival. Further afield, Zayed International Airport (AUH) in Abu Dhabi (105.1 km), Sharjah International Airport (SHJ) (28.3 km), and Al Ain International Airport (AAN) (110.6 km) are international airports serving their respective regions but necessitate longer travel times and higher costs to reach central Dubai. While taxis provide the fastest door-to-door service for all, public transport is only cost-effective and truly seamless when starting from DXB. For travelers landing outside of DXB, booking a private shuttle or taxi in advance is recommended to mitigate the logistical complexities of inter-emirate transit. Always ensure you have a valid Nol card if you intend to use public transport within Dubai.

When we booked June 20-21,2026 for our stay dubai at Swissôtel, we had some doubts about whether the hotel would match the description and photos on Trip.com. However, we were delighted and excited when we arrived because everything was exactly as advertised. From the moment we entered the lobby, we received a warm welcome from the staff. The reception team assisted us professionally, with genuine smiles and confidence, especially Jociell, Sarra, and Supriya. We would like to give special recognition to Jociell for being very informative about the hotel’s facilities and amenities. She attentively answered all our questions and ensured that we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. When we entered our room, we were impressed by its cleanliness and excellent features. The room was well-maintained and exceeded our expectations. The breakfast was amazing, offering a wide variety of selections. The restaurant staff specially susi ( sorry if i mentioned the name wrong) and the chef for chef in live egg station that day, were very attentive and regularly checked on us to ensure everything was satisfactory. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and highly recommend Swissôtel to our friends and anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

The service was excellent from check-in to check-out, making the whole experience smooth and pleasant. The location was convenient, and the facilities were top-notch. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort and great hospitality.

The rooms were generally good, but it was incredibly noisy, making it completely unsuitable for a business trip. Every night, I could hear loud club music. One night was particularly outrageous; at 11 PM, the banquet hall downstairs was still blasting music for a party that the entire hotel could hear. When I called to complain, they said it was a wedding and would be over in 15 minutes, showing a complete disregard for other guests' comfort. We had two twin rooms booked, but were given king-sized beds instead, and the hotel refused to acknowledge their mistake. Even after we repeatedly expressed our dissatisfaction and showed them our English booking confirmation (for twin rooms), they still insisted we contact our booking agent. We finally compromised and got an extra bed, but by then it was already 2 AM.

The Hotel offers a unique stay as a historic cruise ship turned floating hotel and I enjoy the vintage maritime atmosphere and friendly service of the staffs.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the entire team to make our Anniversary stay so special. From the first moment we enter to SLS, the beautiful room, a lovely surprise, the dinner at Fi’lia. It was more than an experience, a truly memorable journey. Thank you for everything.

The hotel's location is fantastic, right behind a canal and very close to Dubai Mall and Dubai World Trade Centre, making it super easy to catch a taxi. The breakfast spread is incredible, with over a hundred choices. At 170 AED per person, getting breakfast for two included with our twin room booking was an amazing deal.

Check in was smooth and was attended by Rash. She was courteous and helpful in getting the room. Was given a room on a higher floor facing partial Dubai frame. The soap etc is very poor quality and bed sheets not white, something not expected of such hotel. Bikash at concierge was rude and I feel need training on customer relations. Gave him the card and instead of handing back, he just placed on the table. Valet parking was also slow and disorganised. Imagine waiting 30 mins just for them to pick up the car. I don't see this in Sofitel Downtown or the JW Marriot. Location is ok but there are definitely other better hotels around the area. Other facilities such as steam room and pool area are quite old.

Deira Dubai|8.9km from city center
Stayed at Hyatt Regency Deira recently. Overall it was a good experience. The rooms are spacious and clean, staff is polite and helpful, and the hotel has good facilities like a pool, gym, and restaurants. Location is convenient if you want to stay in Deira near Gold Souk and the metro. The hotel is a bit old compared to newer Dubai hotels, but service and cleanliness are very good. Breakfast was also nice with many options. Overall, good value for money if you want a 5-star hotel in Deira area. Recommended for business trips and family stays.

World Trade Centre DIFC Dubai|1.05km from city center
Stayed here recently for a short staycation and overall had a pleasant experience, particularly considering the very reasonable rate we paid for a suite. The hotel itself is certainly impressive visually, with its distinctive golden tower design and famous status as one of Dubai’s landmark hotels. Check-in and valet parking were efficient, the elevators were surprisingly quick for such a tall building, and the room itself was clean and well maintained. We also ordered room service during our stay and found the food tasty, reasonably priced, and delivered promptly. One thing I did not realise when booking is that this is a dry hotel, so alcohol is not served anywhere on the property. That was my oversight rather than the hotel’s, but it may be useful information for future guests to know in advance. Our suite was spacious and more apartment-style in layout, with a separate bedroom and kitchen area. However, the overall setup felt quite minimalist in terms of amenities and furnishings. Although the suite includes a kitchen, there are notices advising guests not to use it, and aside from two drinking glasses there were no utensils, crockery, or cutlery provided. Similarly, amenities throughout the room felt limited to the basics: two guests but only two bath towels, two rolls of toilet paper across two bathrooms, and minimal additional furnishings such as sofa cushions or dining seating around the kitchen counter area. The room itself was comfortable enough, although there were a few practical details that impacted sleep quality for us. The illuminated touch-panel light controls remain quite bright overnight, and once your eyes adjust the room never becomes fully dark. There was also overnight construction noise nearby during our stay, although of course that may be temporary and outside the hotel’s control. Guests sensitive to light or noise may wish to keep this in mind. Another thing worth noting is that many rooms appear to face sideways toward neighbouring towers rather than directly toward Sheikh Zayed Road or the coastline, so lower-floor rooms may have fairly limited views depending on their orientation. Overall, I would say the stay represented fair value for the price we paid. While it may not feel especially luxurious or fully equipped compared with some other Dubai four-star properties, it was clean, efficient, and suitable for a short stay, particularly for guests looking for a well-located and affordable suite-style hotel experience.

The hotel is very close to Dubai Mall, making it incredibly convenient for getting around. The service was also excellent! 👍 There's even a Burmese lady at the front desk who speaks Chinese, and she was so warm and patient in answering all our questions, helping us with taxis and directions. We're truly grateful to her! Plus, you can even see the Dubai Frame from the room!

That was a very nice stay. Our kids enjoyed aqua park so much that we spent all our free time floating in “lazy river”. Breakfast is so good and there were lots of various cousins to select from. Can recommend to try Thai food restaurants at evening. Tom yam is amazing

This hotel boasts an excellent location, very close to the metro station, making transportation incredibly convenient. Right next door, there's a shopping mall and a Carrefour supermarket, which was absolutely perfect for our last-minute shopping spree before heading back home. The room itself was incredibly spacious. We stayed on the 30-something floor, offering expansive views and a spectacular cityscape. The bathtub was huge, making for a wonderfully relaxing soak, and the bedding was also superb, ensuring a very sound sleep. The TV was actually the largest we saw during our entire trip to the UAE. As a honeymoon couple, the hotel thoughtfully prepared a chocolate cake for us, which tasted fantastic. The most delightful surprise was the hotel's outdoor swimming pool on the sixth floor. It's really large, divided into two sections: 1.2 meters and 1.5 meters deep. There were plenty of loungers by the pool and even a bar. We went twice in total; the first time we stayed for three hours, and the second time we indulged for a full six hours. Just lying there, reading a book, browsing on our phones, occasionally taking a dip, and then coming back to relax some more – it was truly delightful. When we got hungry, we'd order pizza, quesadillas, or fries, and the prices were very reasonable. Plus, they had a happy hour from 4 PM to 7 PM daily, offering various alcoholic beverages. The only minor inconvenience was that if you ordered takeout, you had to go downstairs to pick it up yourself. Delivery drivers weren't allowed upstairs, and the hotel didn't offer room service for deliveries. All in all, we had a very enjoyable two-day stay here.

This was a mixed bag. There were good things and there were things that could've been better. On the good side were the staff downstairs. Maria kindly gave me late check out and Genelyn was a lot of fun. She organized a driver for me to look around Dubai. The room size was good and the pillows allowed for a comfortable sleep. On the other hand, my room looked a little unclean. There was water on the carpet. I only found out after standing on it and getting wet socks. Parts of the room looked a little old and used. All in all though I believe that I got value for money.
