The hotel is very thoughtful; on the 13th floor, next to the laundry room, there's a scenic corridor where you can relax and enjoy the view while waiting for your clothes. I arrived at 5 PM. The lobby is huge, and the elevators take you up to the main hall, which they claim is on the 50th floor. In reality, it's probably the 40th floor, perhaps to avoid a '4' in the floor number, as floors 39-50 seemed to pass in just a second. Still, it's very high up! Check-in was fast, and the front desk staff were very polite. After checking in, they gave me two delicious, still-warm cookies! There's also a vending machine in the front hall, and a convenience store downstairs. Plus, there are plenty of shopping areas nearby.
I stayed in a suite with a partition, which was great for preventing food smells from the living room from reaching the master bedroom. The room felt like a maze, you could play hide-and-seek in there! It had a guest toilet and a fridge, which was nice for accommodating guests and their drinks. The kettle was also quite large. The room had a great view, and the 'starlight ceiling' was beautiful. The welcome fruit was fresh and tasty! Housekeeping service was very efficient, and most requests were met. The bathtub was well-designed and spacious, and the shower area was also very open. Although there wasn't an exhaust fan in the toilet, the toilet itself had an automatic suction system, so there was absolutely no odor, which was excellent!
For afternoon tea, I had a reservation for 6 PM at the Sky Bar. The staff were very welcoming. The lighting was more like a bar than a place for afternoon tea. There weren't many seats, and the tables were super large, which wasn't ideal for enjoying the view. The taste was about an 80/100.
Room service is a big factor in my hotel ratings. Delivery took a little over an hour, which was a bit long. The portions were generous, and the taste was decent. The only issue was with the mushroom soup – the flavor was right, but it had a distinct jelly-like texture, like crushed jelly pieces. For breakfast the next day, there were many live cooking stations with freshly prepared food, which was delicious. The 'hit-or-miss' rate was below 5%. The pool view was nice, and there were hot/cold water pools and a children's pool. The changing rooms were fully equipped, but oddly, there were no guest slippers, which was a slight letdown in terms of experience.
Overall, the experience was still good, but I have two minor regrets/suggestions: 1. There was no full-length mirror in the suite, which is quite impractical. 2. The night light was always on, so you had to manually turn on the main light if you got up at night. Also, the bedside Bluetooth speaker was very bright even when the main lights were off. I thought pulling the plug would turn it off, but apparently, it's battery-powered?! It stayed on all night even after I unplugged it...

Felt right at home, fantastic location, amenities were on point. They noticed I had a lot of laundry and left me extra laundry powder. I didn't find washing detergent or washing tools after cooking so I went to grab some the night I returned, to my surprise they did my washing up as well! Then when I left, the staff even called to tell me I left my washing liquid and scourer and if I wanted it back. The hotel was very clean and the soundproofing was excellent. I was a bit worried when I found out we were on the 3rd floor facing the street, especially with two kids, fearing they'd be woken up in the middle of the night. I might have missed the call for our takeout delivery, so after calling the front desk, they immediately brought it up to our room. Before I even had a chance to ask for two extra toothbrushes and slippers, they thoughtfully sent them up, along with milk for the kids. I often eat at this hotel's buffet lunch, and it's delicious. So, this time, when traveling with friends and kids, we chose to stay here. Since it was a vacation, we mostly stayed at the hotel, so after an overall assessment, we picked this place.
First, the hotel's environment is genuinely good. It's right next to Lingnan Tiandi, and the Ancestral Temple is right in front of you. The location is truly excellent, and the subway is also nearby.
Second, the hotel facilities are decent and not old. We spent an hour in the gym, and there were quite a few pieces of equipment.
Third, the hotel breakfast is very rich, though it gets crowded, so you have to look for a table. Otherwise, it's good.
Also, the hotel rooms are fairly clean, but there's no separate shower; you have to stand in the bathtub, which is a bit inconvenient. Everything else was fine. The fan was quite noisy at night and affected my sleep.
Finally, what I'm most unhappy about is the service. I arrived at the hotel at 2:30 PM. There were only a few people, and three desks were handling check-ins. I waited for a full half-hour, only to be told my room wasn't ready. Are you kidding me? Check-in is at 2 PM. My friend arrived at 2 PM and had already checked in, and she told them we were together. I also informed Ctrip in advance that we were together and requested rooms as close as possible. Then, an hour later, they told me the room hadn't been cleaned yet and asked me to wait. I was very unhappy and asked the front desk attendant to call her manager. The attendant went in and came out, then said they could arrange a room for me, but it wouldn't be on the same floor. This made me even angrier, so I insisted on speaking to the manager. The manager finally arrived late and told me that because it was the weekend, they were busy, and that's why the room wasn't ready. Hearing this made me even more annoyed. I then asked if it was an upgrade because when I booked, it said upgrades were possible if rooms were available. My friend, who had the same room type, was upgraded to a king-size bed, while I had twin beds. The manager said there were no upgrade options for twin rooms and that to upgrade, I'd have to switch to a king bed. If there's no upgrade for twin rooms, then why do you state that upgrades are possible? But I really didn't have the energy to argue with her. I'm here to enjoy myself, not to get angry, so I just let it go. I had almost forgotten about all of this until just now, after checking out and sitting in the car home. My friend messaged me saying the hotel felt very apologetic for not upgrading me and had given her a small gift for me. I suddenly found it quite funny. You didn't give it to me when I checked out, but after I left, you gave it to my friend to pass on? What's the meaning of that? My friend and I rarely see each other once a year; do we have to meet up again specially for this? If you're truly apologetic, why didn't you bring it to me directly when I stayed for so long? I'm genuinely speechless with your hotel's service and arrangements. I'm not after your small gift; I'm just speechless at how you handled it. The staff service was pretty good too because they lent us a China number to book tickets online. Our door was faulty and they got it fixed while we were having breakfast. I had a truly satisfying stay, honestly, I couldn't find a single fault. Both the facilities and service were top-notch, and the staff were exceptionally professional, truly going above and beyond to accommodate every request. The room was standard but the river view was fantastic. You can confidently choose this hotel for your trip. I stayed here for three days, and Shunde's food goes without saying. Taking a swim when it was hot during the day was very pleasant. The location is a bit south, but it's only about a ten-dollar taxi ride to some of the popular foodie spots in the city.
Here are a few small suggestions:
1. I'd suggest installing voice control for the room, or at least a timer for the air conditioning. The hotel's AC is incredibly powerful; the lobby was freezing, and even with the AC on all night in the room, it got a bit chilly.
2. The mattress was a little too soft; it would be better if it were firmer.
3. The touch buttons by the bed weren't very responsive, physical buttons would be better. Especially for opening the curtains, you had to keep pressing and holding.

A truly perfect stay! If you're coming to Shunde, the Midea Marriott is definitely the right choice. Directly opposite is Shunde Fengshan Park, home to Asia's largest archway, and just across the road to the left-rear is Shunde Mixc Mall – talk about convenient! The hotel's underground parking is also very easy to use. If you book an executive room, you'll be placed on the executive floors (27th-29th). It's really pleasant to just pop into the executive lounge on the 28th floor whenever you like.
