Stayed in this chain of hotels before. As usual, service is impeccable. Monterey Himeji is ideally located, near train station, shopping and food joints. It is also quite close to Himeji castle as well. For those who drive, there is a private car park and there are staff stationed to help direct parking. We were a family of three traveling to Himeji and stayed for three nights. We initially booked a Hollywood twin room, but found it wasn't suitable upon entering. After discussing it with the hotel staff, we were able to switch to a 27-square-meter standard room, which we were very happy with. The staff were extremely helpful and kept bowing. What we liked most about this hotel was its location. Looking at Google Maps, there are about 50 restaurants within a 1km radius, and it's only about a 5-minute walk from Himeji Station. In short, the location is unbeatable. It's also very convenient to get to Engyo-ji Temple; one bus takes you directly to the final stop. Oh, and a special mention for breakfast – 800 yen for children and 1800 yen for adults. It's definitely worth trying!FromUS$42

First time staying at a Dormy hotel inn and super impressed with the level of hospitality for the price!
1. Public onsen and sauna are available on the top floor. Gender segregated with both indoor and outdoor (rotenburo) sections and the usual amenities. Only the sauna is closed overnight, the onsen remains open. Washing machine and dryer are available on 12F too. The washing machine is free, the dryer is not.
2. Free refreshment once you're done with your onsen. Ice cream at night and probiotic drink in the morning.
3. Free serving of ramen (yonakisoba) at night from 21:30-23:00. Head over to the restaurant at 2F.
4. Breakfast buffet is available and it was honestly quite decent for the price.

Service i also give 5star because they let me leave my luggage before check in time.. but be sure you be there before 10am. Its quite old place. Rooms at second floor. It was my first time to experience a hot spring hotel. Overall it was very comfortable. Although it is not a new modern hotel, it was a good feeling to experience Japanese culture. There were more Japanese people staying this time. Although we were tourists, the staff entertained us very warmly. Dinner and breakfast were very rich. Although the road is a bit far from the city center, it is still worthwhile to experience this hotel. The room is very large and the scenery is great. It's so spectacular. There are small bugs in the natural environment. It is recommended not to open the windows. Everything else is impeccable. Best VIEW hotel (affordable price) so far as I tried many hotel in Japan before.
Room quite small, wifi on my room not stabil and my lamp turn off twice without no one touching anything. It still fine tho. Abundantly amenities it was amazing! If you come to Himeji, I will recommend this hotel!
It only straight from HIMEJI station and easy to find food nearby!

Himeji Castle reachable by foot.
Staff was kind and keen to help, we really felt welcome here.
Room was small (as everywhere in Japan) but clean and provided with all the amenities needed!

Apart from the water supply issue in the room, the rest are perfect. The breakfast was good, and the night views from the hotel was spectacular. The water supply in the room was too slow, and I had to go to the public bathroom for brushing teeth. Breakfast buffet ( included in the hotel price) is very delicious with many varieties, especially freshly squeezed fruit, vegetable juice, fruits like apples, pineapples, mangoes which were not available in my previous hotel at Toyoko Inn at Fukuyama.

This was the accommodation I chose to visit Himeji Castle.
The facilities were clean, and each bedroom had a TV, so I could even watch Japanese programs.
There was also a co-working space available, and both the accommodation and the co-working area had manga that you could freely read.
It’s only about a 5-minute walk from the station, which is very convenient, and about 5 minutes by bus to Himeji Castle.
I also visited Kokoen Garden next to the castle, and during the spring season, it’s open at night as well—so after enjoying the night view, I could easily return to the accommodation.
