Compare 5 airports near Hong Kong

Hong Kong is served by five major airports, with Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) being the most convenient and nearest at 26.3 km. It is the only airport within the city, offering the fastest (24-minute Airport Express) and most affordable (budget bus) transport options. Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport (SZX) serves as the primary mainland alternative, situated 50.6 km away, offering efficient high-speed rail connections via the border. Macau International Airport (MFM) at 62.6 km and Zhuhai Jinwan Airport (ZUH) at 88.3 km rely heavily on the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, necessitating cross-border coach or shuttle services. Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN) is the furthest at 147.6 km, best suited for those already in the Pearl River Delta requiring complex rail or coach transfers. For all non-local airports, travelers must account for time spent at border checkpoints. Using an Octopus card for public transport in Hong Kong is highly recommended, and for mainland airports, ensure your travel documents are ready for cross-border transit. Always check real-time traffic updates for cross-boundary bus services.

Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong|1.89km from city center
The location of the hotel is relatively convenient since it’s a few minutes away from Jordan Station. The temple night market and anytime fitness is close too from the hotel (approx 10-15min walk). The breakfast options aren’t the best but food was hot and decent. We had 2 main issues with the hotel which is the cleanliness and fire alarm. We found several cockroaches in the room but the staff moved us to a different room right after we reported it. Regarding the fire alarm, it went off at 2am waking us up. We evacuated and went downstairs immediately. However, they told us there was no fire and it was just gas leak issue. No apologies. Just told us that it’s normal and we should just go back to our rooms.

Hygiene: The bed sheets and duvet covers didn't seem to have been changed, as there were a few strands of hair on the pillow, and more hair was found when I pulled back the duvet at the foot of the bed. After the sheets were changed, my skin felt itchy when I slept at night. Service: The service was alright. They were cooperative when I asked for new sheets, trash removal, and extra tissues. Environment: The hotel's location is quite central, making it convenient to get around. Facilities: The facilities are a bit old, but that's understandable for Hong Kong. I just hope the hygiene conditions can be improved.

Facilities: The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, right next to Harbour City. The ferry to Wan Chai is just steps away, as is the Avenue of Stars. Despite its age, the hotel is exceptionally well-maintained. Environment: Very clean, with well-kept carpets and rooms. The family room was incredibly spacious, providing plenty of room for our family to move around. Service: The service was excellent. The charming young man at the front desk was very thoughtful, helping us get a higher floor to fulfill my child's wish to see the sea – big heart! The cleaning staff were also very welcoming. Overall, the money spent was well worth the great service. The breakfast buffet in the restaurant was lavish, with a wide variety of dishes. If I go to Hong Kong again, I'll definitely stay here.

Choosing a hotel in Hong Kong is always a bit of a headache – rooms are either too small, the location isn't ideal, or the prices are just outrageous. This time, I carefully picked the venerable Royal Garden Hotel, and my overall experience was quite good! 👍 First off, the location is superb. It's just a two or three-minute walk from the Tsim Sha Tsui East MTR station, there are plenty of dining options nearby, and Victoria Harbour is right across the street – a clear advantage. Secondly, the overall decor exudes a strong 'old money' vibe, especially the restaurants and the rooftop pool. It felt like stepping into a 90s Hong Kong movie scene. ❤️ While the room facilities are a bit dated, they are well-maintained. The sliding bathroom door was incredibly smooth, and the shower had great water pressure. Plus, the bedding deserves a huge shout-out – it was super comfortable! 🥳 Considering its star rating, prime location, and room size, the hotel offers good value for money. I'd definitely recommend it. The staff were also very friendly and didn't have the typical 'Hong Kong attitude' (a common complaint sometimes heard).

The room matched the pictures perfectly. The bedding was clean and comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure. The service was very responsive, whether it was providing a universal adapter or sending someone to help me open my suitcase after the lock broke. A big thanks to the engineering staff member who helped me with the lock! The location is excellent, and they offer free luggage storage. The front desk, concierge, and housekeeping services were all great!

Amenities: They provide complimentary bottled water, tea bags, and even a universal adapter, which was very convenient. Cleanliness: The room was clean and hygienic, very satisfying. Environment: Clean and comfortable. Service: A big shout-out to the front desk lady! She was so nice and upgraded our room when she saw I was with two small children. Other staff members also greeted us whenever they saw us.

Mong Kok Hong Kong|0.18km from city center
Right across from Langham Place, directly accessible from the MTR station exit. The hotel lobby is just across the road. The location is truly authentic; you can wander around downstairs, and everything within a few kilometers feels familiar, giving off that old Hong Kong vibe. The main thing is the excellent location and great service. Next time I visit Hong Kong, this will definitely be my first choice again.

Great location! Right on Nathan Road, near Chungking Mansions and the MTR station. Lots of food options nearby, and it's close to Tsim Sha Tsui and East Tsim Sha Tsui station. K11 and the Avenue of Stars are also within walking distance. Famous eateries like Chong Sao desserts, Lan Fong Yuen, and Yau Fung are all nearby, plus plenty of late-night snack spots. The price is really good for the area, offering excellent value for money. While the decor is a bit dated, the prime location more than makes up for it.

Mong Kok Hong Kong|0.73km from city center
The room was very clean and tidy. The hotel beds were spacious, with two 1.5-meter beds, perfectly fine for 3-4 people. The room rate was very reasonable. The hotel's location is also excellent, right above Mong Kok East MTR station, and it's connected to a shopping mall, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient. From the airport, take the A21 bus to Mong Kok, then walk through a covered walkway directly to the hotel, which takes about 10 minutes if you walk fast. No need to worry about rain, it's fantastic. Plus, the walkway itself is a popular spot for influencers, with many people taking great photos of Mong Kok's street views.

Sha Tin Hong Kong|8.21km from city center
The room was indeed spacious: the wet and dry areas were separate, and there was a sofa, a desk, and plenty of hangers. The breakfast on the first floor offered a good variety, and the restaurant environment was also quite pleasant. The only inconvenience was that the laundry room required tokens which had to be exchanged at the front desk. It would be helpful if this information was provided during check-in or available in the room, saving guests an extra trip to the front desk.

Wan Chai and Causeway Bay Hong Kong|4.81km from city center
The hotel's location is excellent, making shopping and getting around incredibly convenient. The A11 airport bus goes directly to and from the airport. The front desk staff are efficient and quick to address guests' needs. I stayed for 4 nights, and the hotel's breakfast buffet was pretty much the same every day. I'd suggest varying the options a bit daily! The hotel is a bit older, so the facilities are slightly dated, but the room was spacious enough for 2-3 suitcases, which is a rare find in crowded Hong Kong. Definitely recommended!

HongKong International Airport Hong Kong|24.16km from city center
Hotel with perfect location (all the nearby 4 / 5 star chains should be jealous) - direct access access to the airport without the shuttle is the main benefit, but which stuck in the last century, amenity-wise - there's a fax line connector, readily available for the travellers carrying fax machine with them on the trips , but hardly a single USB port, which together with the absence of a single international charger port or adapter in the room makes life of the traveller somewhat miserable. Interior and iron/ironing board add up to nostalgic vibes of the prime HK days. Last time I've stayed here good 12 years ago and nothing seems to change since, despite the mentioned renovation. Another small detail: probably, it's the most expensive room service burger I've tried (and I've tried a lot) - yeah, it's an airport hotel, and customers don't have any options, but should the food combine both airport and hotels surchages, that's the question🤣 (burger was good, btw).

Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong|2.55km from city center
My first impression of the hotel's lobby service was excellent. The customer service agent who checked me in spoke Mandarin exceptionally well. The room was larger than I expected, especially considering how compact spaces can be in Hong Kong. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of my Langham room. The air conditioning was also very cool, and the cleanliness was great, though the bed was a bit soft, haha. It was quiet at night, and the housekeeping staff were also very good. Breakfast was plentiful, and the Western dining experience at the Langham Club was also enjoyable. I believe it's a two-way street; mainlanders are well-mannered, and Hong Kong people are no less so. When I checked out, the young lady with the tablet, who was walking around, had a particularly lovely smile and offered warm, enthusiastic service. I was very satisfied. I will definitely stay here again. Many thanks to The Langham Hotel.

North Point and Quarry Bay Hong Kong|4.24km from city center
This was our second stay at the Hyatt Centric (North Point). The service was as warm and welcoming as ever, and they were very accommodating with requests like extra blankets. This time, I traveled with my parents, so I specifically booked a family room. The connecting door in the middle was very convenient. The hotel's surroundings are great for exploring, with both a waterfront and a local market nearby. Transportation is super convenient, with the tram, MTR, and airport bus all accessible. The only minor drawback is that it's a bit far from Central.
