Airport Guide

Compare 5 airports near Kanazawa

The nearest gateway to Kanazawa is Komatsu Airport (KMQ), located just 29.18 km away and offering the most efficient access via an airport limousine bus, which is the overall fastest and cheapest transport method for travelers. While Chubu Centrair International Airport (NGO) and Nagoya Airport (NKM) serve as major international and domestic hubs respectively, they require long-distance rail transfers or extensive driving to reach Kanazawa. Noto Airport (NTQ) provides a domestic regional alternative at 85.87 km distance, with shared shuttle services being the primary transit choice. Shinshu-Matsumoto Airport (MMJ), situated 121.99 km away, primarily serves domestic flights and necessitates complex train connections through mountainous terrain. For the most convenient and cost-effective experience, prioritizing flights to Komatsu Airport is highly recommended. Travelers should always check local bus schedules in advance, especially for Noto Airport, and consider that high-speed rail connections often require transfers at major city hubs like Nagoya or Nagano for distant airports. Booking taxi or private shuttle services ahead of time is advised for late-night arrivals to ensure reliable transport.

The room was spacious and conveniently located right after turning right from the JR station's south exit. The lobby offered complimentary drinks and beverages daily from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The ambiance was also excellent, perfect for a vacation. My only minor complaint is that they didn't provide face cream or facial cleanser, which I've become accustomed to at Japanese hotels. I almost ran out of the ones I brought myself.

One of my favorite hotels during this trip! **Ambiance:** Even though it's an older hotel built in the last century, both the hard furnishings and soft decor are incredibly well-maintained. While the style might be a bit retro, it's tastefully done. The room was over 30 square meters, which is quite spacious for Japan. **Cleanliness:** Virtually spotless. **Facilities:** Didn't have time to visit the lounge or bar to enjoy the city views. I wish there was a gym, or at least I didn't see one available. **Breakfast:** Excellent! They offer both Japanese and buffet options. The buffet included sashimi and seafood rice bowls, freshly made omelets, and French toast. If you stay here, you absolutely *must* experience the breakfast. I had three full plates! **Service:** Outstanding. After check-in, we were rushing to go eat, and they took care of putting our luggage in the room for us. When getting a taxi, a doorman opened the door and assisted us. My time in Kanazawa was a bit short this trip, so I definitely need to stay at this Nikko hotel again.

This was my first time visiting Kanazawa and staying at this onsen ryokan, and it offered excellent value for money. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, with very fresh sashimi, fruits, and milk. The room was comfortable and cozy, and the onsen was fantastic, very relaxing. They even offered complimentary late-night ramen after 9:30 PM, which was also tasty. I would definitely choose to stay at this onsen ryokan again on my next visit to Kanazawa.

Service: Excellent. I stayed for two nights and had a fantastic experience. I'll definitely choose this hotel again if I get the chance to visit Kanazawa in the future.

Mitsui Garden Kanazawa exceeded my expectations. The location is absolutely central! easy walking distance to the Omicho Market, Kenrokuen Garden, and the castle. The breakfast buffet was delicious, with a great mix of Japanese and Western dishes, including fresh seafood and local specialties. What really stood out, though, was the incredibly friendly and helpful staff, they made us feel genuinely welcome. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Kanazawa!

I chose this hotel because it is very close to Kanazawa Marathon starting point. The price during the event was not cheap. It is located in Karimbo area, 1.5km from Kanazawa station. It is also close to Kanazawa Castle, 2km from old town. Very convenient. Check in process was funny as the hotel uses unmanned system. It can be easy or it can be frustrating. My room has no desk but a small sitting table. Check out process was just simply dropping key cards to the kiosk and done.

The hotel was clean and tidy, with excellent service and a rich breakfast. We were lucky enough to enjoy the snow scenery, which was lovely. The location is superb, conveniently close to both shopping malls and the train station. It offers great value for money and I highly recommend staying here.

There are so many hotels in Japan with so many rooms, it is a surprise! ! The space distribution is very reasonable, two adults and one elderly primary school student live very spacious! The facilities are very convenient! The lobby is small, but the items are rich and the environment is warm. Our family likes it very much! And the room has a welcome handwriting and small snacks, warm and moving, all five-star praise ~ The only drawback is that the location is a bit ”remote”, from Kanazawa Station to the hotel all the way is a bit dark, passers-by are also very few (maybe this is the characteristic of a small city), children feel afraid. We all walk or take a taxi to Kanazawa Station and attractions, there are no buses around

It's fine to stay with children under 12, and there's no extra charge. Some hotels in Japan are very lenient about this, while others are strict, so it's something to be aware of. The hotel has a Muji-style design and a public bath. Aside from the women at the front desk, you mostly use your key card to access the elevators, which is also good. The location is excellent, right across from the seafood market. Taxis aren't expensive either, about 1300 yen to the station.

Very high quality, comfortable, and beautiful hotel at reasonable price. Its location by the castle makes it very convenient for exploring the castle and Kenrokuen on snowy days. Its Kaga Ryori dining is exquisite and value for money! The hotel shop has a very good selection of products at reasonable prices. The onsen has cold and hot bath, as well as a sauna with TV. The hotel is very thoughtful and generous in providing free ice cream treats after onsen, and onsen bath powder set for customers taking green measures (not requiring cleaning and change of bedsheet every day).

Superb location and hospitality. Spacious, clean, and quiet room. I attended the Kanazawa Marathon on the weekend, the hotel location is right across the street, and the hotel was so caring to open breakfast buffet at 6:30am so runners can have breakfast before race.

It is close to Omicho Market and has convenient transportation. Typical Japanese hotel with very good service. Dining is great. Is expensive. There are not many rooms, but the rooms are spacious, the Japanese-style tatami rooms, the toiletries are L'Occitane, there is a family style, good appointment time, guoup by group.

Great location as near Omicho market. Parking is on another street, at the back hence not so convenient as the front of the hotel cannot load/unload. Troublesome if raining for family. No smoking room in hotel, need to find nearest kombini for smokers. Cleanliness is good. Spacious for luggages to open in room. Simple and fuss-free.

This hotel was the best one throughout our trip. Having visited Kanazawa before, I knew all their hotels are basically on the same street, making the location extremely convenient for attractions and well-situated. So, I didn't choose the usual hotel but picked this one which seemed like a good value for money. And the check-in experience was absolutely perfect. It's been a while since I've experienced Japanese-style service, and their service here was quite good. Although it's not a traditional ryokan 'okami' service (where they unpack your bags), all their staff members were incredibly polite and enthusiastic. The hotel is directly opposite Oyama Shrine, and you can walk through to Gyokusen-en Garden. We spent about 20 minutes exploring it in the morning. However, one thing to note is that linen changes and bathroom cleaning are subject to an additional charge. This might be something to consider for longer stays, but since we were only there for two days, it wasn't an issue. We booked a room with some basic kitchen utensils, so we were able to buy ingredients from the supermarket and make sukiyaki, which helped us balance our diet during the trip. The hotel is also very close to Omicho Market, making it convenient to buy fresh seafood and other groceries. For those on a shorter trip, cooking might not be necessary. Also, the hotel is quite new, and the room wasn't small, so it was very comfortable.
