Compare 5 airports near Koh Lipe

Choosing the right arrival point for Koh Lipe depends largely on your budget, schedule, and point of origin. Langkawi International Airport (LGK) is the closest, serving as an international gateway in Malaysia that is ideal for those who prefer a shorter sea transfer, provided it is high season. Hat Yai International Airport (HDY), located in a nearby city, remains the most popular domestic choice for those traveling within Thailand, offering extensive, affordable connections via shared minivans and boats. For travelers arriving in northern Malaysia, Penang International Airport (PEN) and Sultan Abdul Halim Airport (AOR) act as useful alternatives, though they require longer land transit to cross the Thai border. Finally, Krabi International Airport (KBV) provides direct ferry links, fitting for travelers combining their island stay with other Thai destinations. None of these airports are in Koh Lipe; all require sea-based transfers. Travelers should prioritize early arrivals to ensure they reach the ferry piers before daily boat schedules conclude.

Booked a pool room, it was very spacious and clean. The service was okay, nothing particularly warm or enthusiastic, but everything you needed was there. My only complaint is that our boat was at 12:30 PM, and check-in for it was available until 11 AM, but they made us check out of the hotel at 9:30 AM. As a result, they dropped us off at the pier super early. We waited for half an hour for check-in to open, and then ended up going to 7-Eleven until noon before heading back to the pier.

Absolutely brilliant. The staff were there to pick us up off the boat and take us straight to the hotel, really easy check in and the place was lovely. The Anda Lipe staff really made our stay. When asked if they could help out with decorating the room for my partners birthday, they went above and beyond and really made the day special and decorated the room lovely. The breakfast was great, lots of options. The free coffee all day is a really nice touch. The room was comfy, spacious and well equipped. Overall, the stay was amazing. Would really recommend to anyone coming to Koh Lipe.

Was a bit far from the main area, and the hotel provided only one shuttle per day. We actually booked a room with a different design and got a completely different room. When we asked to see the other rooms, they showed us rooms with the same design as the first, instead of just saying they renovated the room. We didn’t get any compensation for this inconvenience. Some of the buildings needed renovations. The whole floor around our room was super dirty and disgusting. A lot of stairs in the hotel if you want to go down to the beach and restaurant area. Also was pretty expensive and was not worth the price in my opinion. Pros - very nice breakfast. Gorgeous beach area. Nice staff. Clean room.

This bungalow-style resort by Sunset Beach is really lovely. The check-in deposit is just 100 THB. I really enjoyed the hotel's layout—it's only a five-minute walk to a 7-Eleven, which is super handy. The hotel's beach area is pretty small and often has boats around, so if you'd like to go snorkeling, I'd suggest walking about 10 minutes to the east side of the beach. For calm, beautiful turquoise water, head to the north tip of the island—it's about 30 minutes from the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The resort offers massage services, a diving club, and yoga classes. A quick note on the bungalow I stayed in: there was no hot water, quite a few mosquitoes, and the lighting was fairly dim since it's nestled among gardens and other houses. The hotel also follows an eco-friendly policy to save electricity.

Loved it! 🥰🥰🥰 This stay completely exceeded my expectations. Each room is a small, standalone bungalow, and the hotel's beach is absolutely beautiful. The staff provides shuttle service to and from the pier. 🥰🥰 The rooms are very clean, and it's a short walk along the beach to both the pier and the walking street. For places further out, the staff will help you call a tuk-tuk. There are almost no downsides. I honestly didn't have high hopes before arriving, so I was completely surprised that a 500-yuan hotel could be this good! The only issue is that the service attitude isn't great, and the front desk staff seemed to judge people.

The location is probably the biggest plus here. It's right by the pier when you get off the boat in Koh Lipe, so you can walk straight there. They even help with luggage, so you just stroll along! The pool area is quite large, good for swimming. There are several restaurants and bars to suit different tastes. **Cleanliness:** We left a tip every day, so the room was cleaned pretty well. **Ambiance:** The hotel is right next to Walking Street, which is a big plus for anyone who loves shopping. The ocean outside is beautiful, despite a lot of boats coming and going; it's just not very quiet. **Service:** The service was truly terrible. The front desk staff clearly treated Chinese guests differently. We came during the low season, so the occupancy was very low, but they gave us a deluxe pool access room in the furthest corner, quite a distance from the main pool view. I've heard they only give Chinese guests the 'tail end' rooms, and I certainly experienced it! The front desk staff were also quite impatient when we asked questions, and the tuk-tuk they helped us call was more expensive than ones we found ourselves. I really can't complain enough about the service here! All the other hotels we stayed at on the island had much better service. There wasn't even a welcome treat for my birthday, which other places provided!

Air-conditioned room with two single beds. The location is overall quite good 😊 (about a 3–5 minute walk from the Walking Street 7-Eleven, and around 7–10 minutes if using the back entrance of Walking Street 7-Eleven). For this price, Green Hotel is definitely worth it 🌼 We stayed for 3 nights and chose not to have daily cleaning, but they still kindly left fresh bottled water outside our room every day 🥰 which was a really thoughtful touch. The toilet water pressure was good, the air-conditioning worked perfectly, and the lady at the front desk was very friendly 🫶🏻

This hotel has an amazing sense of style — everything feels thoughtfully designed and really stands out. The atmosphere is modern, unique, and super inviting. What truly made the stay special, though, was the incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Everyone was welcoming, attentive, and always smiling, which made us feel comfortable from the very first moment. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish place with great service. Also we loved the Beach Access and breakfast !

The hotel is right by Pattaya Beach, but it's a bit far from Walking Street and 7-Eleven. You'll need to take a motorbike taxi, which costs 50 baht per person. The hotel itself is nice and I slept very well. However, the sea view from Pattaya Beach isn't great. It's more suitable for having a drink at one of the nearby restaurants in the evening and enjoying the breeze.

Stayed in June during the off-season, in a basic room type without a pool, for around 1000 RMB including breakfast for two. The breakfast for two deserves its own glowing review – it completely blew all the Sanya hotels out of the water! #HighValueForMoneyHotelRecommendation #OneStopResort #LuxuryHotelWorthSleepingIn #TopIslandResortChoice #HotelsWithAmazingViews I stayed for eight nights on the island, hopping between four hotels, including Eileen and Bulow Casa. Overall, this hotel offered the best value for money. This time, I stayed in Villa 1 at the Serendipity Beach Resort Koh Lipe, and the experience was absolutely fantastic. It's definitely a high-value hidden gem on the island! The room's location is incredible, right next to the famous cliffside restaurant. You can walk straight down to the restaurant area, and opening the window reveals an expansive, endless sea view – clear and calming. It's perfect for capturing atmospheric, cinematic sea views with ease. The hotel's most delightful surprise was the private balcony breakfast service, offering both privacy and a touch of ceremony. Staff would promptly collect the menu at 4 PM the day before, and the exquisite and hearty breakfast would be delivered to the balcony at the agreed time the next morning. The food quality is outstanding, ingredients are fresh, and enjoying breakfast with the sea breeze truly immerses you in a relaxed island holiday mode. The hotel also has its own secluded private beach. The sand is fine and soft, and there are very few tourists, making it incredibly peaceful – you get to enjoy the quiet seaside scenery all to yourself. The overall design is a pristine, ecological mountain garden, with lush greenery and a tranquil environment. Strolling through the grounds in the morning feels like being in a natural coastal park – uncrowded, quiet, pleasant, and relaxing. It's especially great for flying drones. The room facilities are generally of high quality. Being adjacent to the Ten Moons Lipe Resort, the living experience is excellent. The only minor flaw was that the shower water pressure was a bit low, the water temperature was slightly cool, and due to the island's water treatment, the shower water was a little salty. However, with the hot island climate, slightly cooler water wasn't an issue at all and didn't affect the stay. Overall, the value for money is exceptionally high.

We stayed in the Tree Pool Villa, and our kids absolutely loved it. They kept saying it felt like a real treehouse! The glass roof upstairs was such a nice surprise—we even spent some time looking at the stars before going to bed. They also had so much fun in the private pool. If they weren't there, they were swimming in the main pool or playing on the beach, which is only a short walk from the villa. The beach is honestly beautiful. The water is so clear and such a gorgeous blue. One evening we walked to Sunset Beach to watch the sunset, and it wasn't far at all. The resort was quiet and relaxing, the food was really good, and all the staff were kind and welcoming. Before we left, my husband and I looked at each other and said, ”We have to come back here again.

The hotel boasts an excellent location with breathtaking views. However, the only downside is the absence of a communal swimming pool. Private pools are exclusively available with pool-access rooms; standard rooms do not have them. For vacationers, please note that breakfast is à la carte when booking. In the evenings, there are several spots right next to the hotel perfect for enjoying a drink while watching the sunset. It offers excellent value for money, being slightly more affordable than Ilyn and just over a hundred meters away in terms of location.

Service, ambiance, and facilities: Excellent, truly top-notch. Probably among the best on the island. We received complimentary welcome desserts upon check-in. Communication and service bookings can all be done conveniently via their in-house app. They also offer free shuttle service to and from the pier. Cleanliness: 1. There were always flies in the restaurant, though it was still much better compared to other eateries on the island. 2. The pool didn't feel very clean; I could see a lot of twigs, leaves, and other debris at the bottom while swimming. Koh Lipe is lovely, and I'd definitely come back if I have the chance. Next time, I'd book a villa directly.

I really enjoyed our stay jt was low season so nice and quiet but still a good atmosphere. Rooms were comfortable, we booked two but could have managed with one room with a 9 and 12 year old. Everything worked , the internet was decent. Gardens and greenery lovely spot. Breakfast was fairly standard for this type of accommodation. Nice fresh fruit eggs, bacon, pancakes , waffles and Asian options, eaten with a nice view of the sea. Location at end of beach but close to walking street. We tended to walk to North point and get a taxi scooter back for 50b. Food on island was good. Coffee from tugboat needs a mention. Island overall is beautiful and has a really nice vibe at present hopefully it doesn't get over developed. North point is a lovely area which still has it's natural beauty.

Excellent resort on Koh Lipe. It has everything you could possibly need. Clean, modern, comfortable and welcoming rooms and facilities. The pool design is probably the best I have ever seen - large, spacious, clean, shady and inviting. Food and drinks from the bar overlooking the ocean were good and plenty of options for the included breakfast. Location is a great spot on Sunrise beach. Free hire of snorkels, kayaks etc. plus cold drinking water refills were a huge bonus. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, unfortunately we had to cut our trip a bit short due to a medical issue, but they were so helpful during that process including taking us to the clinic and boat - thanks very much!
