This is my second time staying at Mira Montra. The bay and the view are magnificent, and the hotel lives up to what you'd expect from a high-end establishment on Koh Mak. However, I'm always surprised by the hotel's rigid management. The first time, I had an incredibly difficult time changing my stay dates, even though war had just broken out with the neighboring country. And this time, I was unable to upgrade my room, even though a Luxury villa was still available. Their reservation service is practically unmanageable. We spent a week at a delightful hotel on a magical island! The charming sea-view bungalows are arranged on terraces, and the hotel grounds exude comfort and care for guests. They are clean, beautiful, and very comfortable, with picturesque paths and staircases between the terrace levels.
We were greeted very warmly at the hotel (sweet and cheerful Vee, thank you so much!), and were shown around and told about the hotel, then they were attentive and helpful in resolving any questions we had.
And most importantly (!)
were the thoughtful and varied breakfasts, which lifted our spirits in the morning 😁, and the fresh, aromatic, hot dishes for lunch and dinner. Incredibly delicious, prepared with love. We even received special requests for items not on the menu! Dear, magical Jane, the restaurant owner, I am so grateful for your approach to guests and for every dinner we had! I really liked the hotel for its warm welcome and friendly staff. It is possible to rent a motorbike without a deposit, buy a transfer to other islands, you will be met from the pier and taken away for free by minibus.
For breakfast they offer several options of egg dishes, something with noodles, waffles / pancakes, fresh fruit. Very tasty.
The hotel is located on a hill, there is no beach. At the nearest hotel Cococape, the entrance to the territory with a cozy bar on the pier costs 200 baht per person. If you stay here, rent a bike (200-300 baht / day) or a golf cart (1000 baht / day) to ride along different beaches and have dinner. The food in the hotel restaurant is delicious, but the price is too high.
A room with a garden and a terrace is actually a small balcony that rests against a fence.
Beach towels are fluffy and smell nice, but the towels in the room are completely gray.

We've stayed at this hotel many times over the past 20 years. In the last year alone, we've been twice: 7 days in April (one room for two) and 9 days in January (two rooms with family). The hotel is quite old but well-maintained. Its main selling point is its central location, and it's a proper hotel, not just a guesthouse on the island. Breakfast is perfectly edible. The Wi-Fi is slow, but it works. Room cleaning is good and done daily. I've stayed in almost all room types. If you want to be right on the beach, the best are the Villa Beach Front rooms from S2 to S6. Q (Queen) and K (King) rooms are good for families with many children or if you prefer to all stay together. D (Deluxe) rooms are for couples or families with one child. All these rooms face the sea. There are also 4 smaller C (City View) rooms with windows facing the road, which are the most budget-friendly. Message the hotel before you arrive, and they'll pick you up at the pier for 20 Baht per person, and drop you off too. Check-out is at 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM at the latest. If you want to check out later, it's best to book an extra day. A suggestion for the hotel: please wipe down the very top shelves in the closet where the umbrellas are kept sometimes. It feels like we're the only ones who do it in our room. But it's not a major issue; the other shelves are clean. Rooms have safes and kettles. Generally, rooms have one large bed and a small sofa. You can book through Trip.com or pay the hotel upon arrival. I've done both, but Trip.com is easier – book it and forget about it. If you pay at the hotel, cash is better as cards sometimes don't work. If you have any questions, email the hotel; they usually reply within a day.Family friendly

The hotel is in the northeast of the island. There is a small island opposite the hotel where you can take a boat. It is said that there are deer on the island. The hotel rooms are not bad, and the clean facilities are OK. The cabins upgraded after arriving at the store, the lights are slightly dim. But it doesn't matter if you fall asleep after playing at night. The front desk of the hotel should not like to talk much. There was basically no communication a few days ago. But the night before I left, my friend was injured while riding a motorcycle. The hotel staff drove the friend to the hospital as soon as possible, helped call the doctor, and waited with us for a long time. Thank you very much. We had an amazing 4 night stay at the Mak Trat and I can’t begin to say how wonderful, new, clean and well kept this place is. We arranged a hotel pick up from the Ao Nid port and within 5-10 of our arrival they came to pick us up, and took our luggage straight to the room.
The villas are extremely charming and the beds are very very very comfortable. The breakfast is delicious as well and the food at their own restaurant, and the amenities like the swimming pool area are very clean, beautiful and inviting. The staff is very kind and helpful informing you about day trips and also, you can rent a scooter at the hotel itself. We’re in love with this place I would 100% stay there again. We stayed on February 17, 2025 in Sunset Bungalow No. 6
The friendly staff greeted us, we left our things at the reception and went for a walk along the beach, since it was still too early to check in.
The beach amazed us with its beauty, but the entrance to the water was a bit rocky.
We took a kayak and swam near the shore, snorkeled and it was time to check in.
The bungalow had a pleasant fresh clean aroma, flowers were laid out on the bed and welcome drinks were waiting for us.
The view was incredibly beautiful, I am attaching a photo. There were drinks and snacks in the room, which is very convenient, since it is quite scary to walk to the shops at night.
I especially liked the kitchen and the bar, the cocktails were quite well prepared.
For breakfast, we were given a questionnaire to fill out where we could indicate our food preferences. The breakfast was incredibly delicious, you will understand everything from the photos)

We were in the 3rd villa and this is the most amazing view that we have ever had on this island, and we have lived in 5 different hotels and we have something to compare with.
Very spacious villa with high ceilings with a bathroom overlooking the sea, it's amazing.
Breakfasts were a choice, we tried 4 different sets, so to speak, they are for an amateur, delicious cappuccino.
