This hotel I had been interested in for a long time.
Both the doorman and the reception staff were very pleasant, making the stay comfortable and welcoming. The interior design was also very much to my taste.
The breakfast selection was excellent, with many protein rich dishes, and I was very satisfied.
One thing I noticed was that there were no hand towels provided in the room, so we had to manage with just one bath towel, which was a bit inconvenient.

The best thing about this hotel is the complimentary shuttle service. You just email them to book it, and they have pickups every hour on the dot, which is really convenient. However, the downsides are also very obvious. While the price might reflect its age, it's incredibly, incredibly, incredibly noisy... The windows aren't double-glazed, so even with them closed, you can clearly hear the constant roar of motorcycles from the street. You'll have to decide for yourself whether to book it.FromUS$20

The super big and clean rooms really impressed us, We had a very comfy stay here. All the staff are incredibly friendly and courteous. I also like the swimming pool which was very refreshing. The food in the restaurant was pretty good too. Only downside is that it doesn't have a gym and also in a bit of an isolated so it takes at least 15 minutes to arrange a taxi to pick you up. I have few things to say about my stay in RedDoorz New Era.
First, I made a request for an early check in 4 or 5 weeks ago because my flight was scheduled to arrive at 8am. I reached at the hotel at around 9am but the reception asked me for an additional charge of 500 pesos which for me was such a big amount considering the cost of the overnight stay. I booked the hotel at US$14 (around 800 pesos a night) plus 500 pesos (around $9). The older receptionist just needs a lot of money.
Second, the red pillows were very smelly. I guess they never wash or change it's pillow case cause the sweat of previous guests still stuck in them.
Third, The hotel doesn't have slippers so you should bring your own. There's no hooks or anything that you can hang towel or something inside the bathroom as well.
And lastly, the housekeeper keeps on shouting and knocking... no, it's banging the door in the morning at around 10:10am just to ask if I am extending my stay. It was very distracting and unethical. If a guest has plans to extend, I guess he/she is responsible enough to inform the receptionist, otherwise, it is understood that he/she is leaving.
There's one thing though that this hotel is fair enough during my stay, the am shift guard was quite helpful.
Overall assessment is not recommended. You can find a much better hotels (budget hotels) around Cebu city and mandaue.FromUS$13

The hygiene, service, dining, and facilities were all great. Other than seeing the whale sharks and sardines in Cebu, I didn't eat out at all; I had all my meals at the hotel. The à la carte options were exquisite, and the New Year's Eve dinner buffet was also fantastic. If I had to pick a flaw, it's that compared to the bai and Holiday Inn hotels, the Marriott doesn't have a doorman. No one came forward to help with my luggage when I got out of the car. The biggest issue was the security check upon entry; I had to unload my luggage from the car and then lift it onto the X-ray machine, which was truly frustrating.FromUS$72

The hotel looks nice, and the staff are generally friendly and smiling, especially the doorman and the guard who were always ready to help get a cab. Its location is convenient, just about 6 minutes away from SM J Mall.
However, there were a few disappointments. The photos showed amenities like slippers, but there were none during our stay. The hot shower also wasn’t hot. I originally booked 5 nights for a Superior Executive Room through Trip.com at ₱1,954 per night. Later, I decided to extend for 1 more night, but the front desk charged me over ₱2,900 for that additional night. When I asked why, mentioning that the Trip.com rate was still ₱1,954, the staff advised me to book directly with them instead of using the app, saying it would be “easier.” Unfortunately, that advice wasn’t helpful, and I ended up paying the higher rate.
The price difference between ₱1,954 and ₱2,900 for the same room left me very disappointed, and I don’t see myself booking this hotel again.FromUS$21
