The room was great although a bit small for anyone carrying a luggage bigger than 24 inches. You need to grab your amenities in the lobby. The room was very clean and the walk-in shower was much more convenient than a tub. The internet was amazingly fast. The breakfast was absolutely the most enjoyable part of the stay. The environment: The room was surprisingly spacious, exceeding my expectations. There's a 24-hour convenience store right downstairs, and you can use your room key to enter and exit. It's also very close to the train station.
Facilities: The facilities were great. They even provided free hydrating facial masks and toiletries, making it the only hotel on my trip to Japan that offered masks.
Service: Breakfast was quite varied, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offered a view directly across from Morioka Station, so you could enjoy the scenery while eating. Guests staying on certain floors also had access to afternoon tea, with cakes, nuts, and drinks, and could enjoy the night view in the evening!

My friend booked the other Toyoko Inn near Morioka Eki and I only found out after trying to check-in.
Luckily the two hotels are quite close to each other.
The location was great, just a few minute walk from the JR station so I was able to pack my snowboard and walked to the station myself.
Breakfast was included. Variety was little but the menu changed everyday.
Room was bigger than I thought. I booked a single room but it came with a double bed.
I had my snowboard luggage laid out and still quite some space to walk around in the room.

The hotel is ideally located, approximately thirteen minutes away from Morioka station, and equidistant with the nearby castle park. It is also within walking distance of many conveniences such as bakeries, combinis, and a local cinema. There are coin operated laundry facilities onsite, and the staff are helpful, kind, and professional. There is an onsite dining area, as well as dining facilities, which I can not attest to as I was on business and, as such, left early and returned late. However, the aromas were enticing! We arrived late from an overseas trip but before the check in last call. Staff was friendly and thorough. The air conditioning seemed a bit weak but otherwise kept us cool. The rooms were western style, including the bathrooms and were well stocked. We didn't get a chance to eat there as we slept in until almost checkout. Beautiful place.
