If you're coming for skiing, and prioritize value for money and comfort, this hotel is truly worth recommending.
The staff are generally very warm and attentive, and they're very knowledgeable about ski-related details: helping with sending and receiving ski equipment and luggage. The entire check-in process was very reassuring and saved a lot of energy and time.
Regarding meals: Breakfast is Japanese style, relatively simple but sufficient. However, dinner truly exceeded expectations: the dishes were varied and tasted excellent. If you stay for multiple days, there will be some repetition in the menu, but the overall quality is very high. For those who don't mind repetition, it's perfectly fine. For this price point, the value for money is really outstanding.
Skiing convenience: The ski resort bus stop is right across the road from the hotel's back exit, very close. Even with a lot of ski gear, it's not tiring. After skiing, you can return to the hotel and immediately enjoy the hot springs, which is very comfortable. This significantly enhances the experience for those who ski consecutively.

Ryokan Ito is a small establishment near the Omachi station. It is easy and convenient to reach and is a very good point of fall before or after a crossing of the Tateyama Kurobe.
The rooms are very beautiful, Japanese-style and clean.
The hotel is well equipped but has suffered from time, may be of unreverent occupants too and leaves the shock a feeling, esthetically, of negligence. Les couloirs semblent usés, les toilettes et les bains ne semblent pas recevoir l'entretien adéquat que ces pièces requièrent (moissures, zones poissonantes, catés cassées ) et c'est très dommage. Breakfasts and dinners in traditional style are great. Onsen - indoor and outdoor pool, in the evenings we watched martens running, silence. The room is simply huge for Japan (about 40 sq.m). We love the location because it's not far from Hakuba where we go skiing. The facilities at the hotel are great; bath, gift shop, vending machine. However, they don't have a laundry machine which is not convenience for people who come for skiing. Breakfast and dinner are super delicious. 1. The house is very clean and well-maintained, with complete cooking utensils, dishes, cups and bowls, and a large refrigerator. You own the entire house, including a dining room, living room and 2 bedrooms. Parking is also very convenient next to the house.
2. It is a 20-minute drive from Ogizawa Station, suitable for those who drive to visit Tateyama Kurobe.
3. On the first night, we encountered a magnitude 5 earthquake in Nagano. The epicenter was nearby and the whole house was shaking noticeably. The staff arrived quickly to inquire about the guests’ safety and were very attentive.
4. It is suggested to add a sofa, because not everyone likes to sit on the floor in the Japanese style.

Overall a lovely hotel with great service to ski resorts but please not there there are no convenience stores or services around the property. Food however on site was amazing! This is the first time I stayed at a Hoshino resort. Perhaps my expectations were too high.
Food quality was the best reason to stay here. The restaurant offers an elaborate menu.
The onsen is the next big feature of the hotel. It was not as big as seen in the advertisement. Perhaps wide angle was used.
Location was not great. Not much to do nearby. The free transfers to Omachi helped to kill time if you have no plan to ski at Hakuba.
Service was patchy. Below are two examples:
1) Asked reception about train tickets conditions in general but the response was we are not train company. We know that but would appreciate help in calling into the train company or checking their website in Japanese.
2) Over a supposedly fancy dinner, the server was rushing us to finish by asking us to move unfinished food items from one plate or another by ourselves to make space for the next dish. I would have expected the server to wait for us. On another occasion, the server left the next dish on the table, with lid closed, without explaining what it is. We were not sure if we should start eating or wait. The server came back in a few minutes realizing that she had not explained to us yet and apologized.
With better service and things to do nearby, the hotel will see happier customers.FromUS$319

The location is super convenient, just a short walk from the train station. (Though be warned, the station doesn't have ramps, so you'll have to haul your luggage.) The hotel is also very close to the Kurobe bus station, which I needed for the next day, just across the street. I could even check the bus queue from my room to see how long it was! They say the room is 16 sqm, but it felt quite spacious once inside. The hot spring bath was still incredibly comfortable; I absolutely loved it!
