Compare 5 airports near Otaru

The nearest gateway to Otaru is Sapporo Okadama Airport (OKD), located just 32.36 km away, offering the fastest and cheapest transit via a combination of local bus and train services. New Chitose Airport (CTS), while 72.54 km away, remains the primary international and domestic hub with a convenient direct JR Rapid Airport train service to Otaru, balancing speed and accessibility for most international arrivals. For those traveling from further distances, Asahikawa Airport (AKJ) at 128.87 km, Hakodate Airport (HKD) at 158.02 km, and Tokachi-Obihiro Airport (OBO) at 187.97 km provide necessary regional access, though these routes significantly increase travel time and complexity, typically requiring transfers through Sapporo. Travelers arriving at these more distant airports should plan for multiple hours of transit, often combining airport shuttle buses with limited express train lines. It is highly recommended to check local train and bus schedules in advance, as last-mile connections in smaller cities may have limited service frequencies, especially during early morning or late evening hours.

Do NOT choose this hotel for skiing!! Unless it's half the price during the same period, I'll never pick this place again. Prioritize other hotels with shuttle buses to Otaru Station. First, the location: This is Otaru-Chikko Station, two stops away from Otaru Station. The nearest convenience store is a 10-minute walk outside. Although there's a mall downstairs, its operating hours are 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM, which is the only time you can use the indoor passage. Most restaurants close around 7 PM, so it's really inconvenient to find food after skiing. Second, it's really old! The carpet in my room type was dirty, the bed was rock hard, and the pillow felt like a worn-out cotton pillow – small and flat. The worst part is that after sleeping, my head developed small bumps and became very itchy!! I don't know if it was fleas, but it made me scratch my head for the next few days. The hygiene is truly concerning. This hotel has no coin-operated washing machines or laundry rooms, only individual dry cleaning, which is very expensive. This is super inconvenient for skiers staying for an extended period. frankly, the only good thing about this hotel is the room size; everything else is a huge letdown.

This was the best hotel of our trip. From check-in to check-out, we felt the warmth and saw the smiles of the staff throughout. The included dinner was delicious and exquisite. The set breakfast was also pretty good. The hotel offers a variety of entertainment activities and facilities, so you won't get bored at all, and the environment is beautiful. The only downside is that the soundproofing isn't great; you can hear doors opening and closing from upstairs and next door.

The hotel is super convenient to the Otaru canal and walking distance to all other locations as well. The breakfast was great, will be better if the daily bf can be different dishes. Excellent to have a massage room service arrangement, appreciated much. And Also, they have gone extra mile to transfer my son's sweatpants to our Sapporo Hotel with an estimation delivery fee lower than they quoted as well. And we got it before check out too. We are very delighted and glad we have chosen Torifito Otaru Canal. Will come to the same hotel if we visit Hokkaido again.

This isn't my first time staying at a Dormy Inn; I stayed at one in Kumamoto previously and absolutely loved it. The Otaru location is right in front of the station, which is super convenient. So, I didn't hesitate to choose Dormy Inn again. They offer complimentary Yakult and ice cream, which my child adored. The free ramen served as a late-night snack was a light soy sauce broth, easy on the stomach. Breakfast quality is outstanding, featuring seafood donburi, soup curry, tempura, grilled seafood, Hokkaido milk, and local specialties. Many hotels serve frozen fruit, but Dormy Inn offers fresh fruit!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children, and the room was perfect for us. The room had 4 beds and windows, which made it spacious, bright, and comfortable. The hotel is in a very good location, making it convenient to get around and visit nearby attractions. The beds were comfortable, and the room was clean and cozy. We especially enjoyed the bathtub. It was a great way to relax after a long day, and our children loved it as well. Overall, we really liked this hotel and had a pleasant stay. We would definitely recommend it to families looking for a comfortable hotel in a good location.

We had such a great time here even though we only spent one night here. The rooms were clean, and the service was really good. It's a bit of a walk from Otaru Station, but I would still consider the location as convenient because it's just right across Otaru Canal and walkable to many other sights and restaurants. The rooms were quite spacious by Japanese standards. Overall, we had a really great stay in this hotel and would definitely stay here again when we visit Otaru again in the future.

Terrible service! On a snowy day, they kept saying there was no transportation, but I clearly saw the Line 13 bus passing by. I don't recommend staying here. Plus, their English isn't good, making communication difficult.

This time I came to Otaru, I stayed in this hotel for two nights and was very satisfied! The service attitude of the hotel front desk and staff was really very good, and the stay experience was great! There are hot springs in the hotel, and breakfast and dinner are also very rich. Dinner is in a separate small Japanese-style room with great privacy! In terms of travel, there is a bus stop at the door, and it is very convenient to take the bus to the city. In addition, the hotel also has a free shuttle bus to the bus stop in the city at 9:30 in the morning. In short, it was a very satisfactory stay! I would like to praise the service attitude again, which is really great~ I had a very happy two days!

The room was quiet and comfortable, and the location was super convenient, right by the canal downstairs. The on-site hot springs were also a fantastic experience! Definitely a perfect score! The cafe downstairs had a wonderful atmosphere, great for reading, working, or journaling. And the breakfast buffet was high quality too! The ingredients were incredibly fresh and plentiful; you could even make your own seafood donburi.

The hotel's location is superb, within walking distance to Otaru Canal and Sankaku Market. The hotel design is elegant and refined, with a vintage touch. The 5-person loft room feels spacious. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area. The restaurant windows are adorned with charming Otaru glass elements. I really enjoyed the hotel's happy hour wine tasting, and I loved spending a relaxing time in the beautiful bar.

Thumbs up! ! ! Superb environment and service! ! We arrived at the hotel later and the driver couldn't find the door and helped us find it, but after a while, a staff member ran down and asked if we had booked a room, really running! ! Then the driver parked the car, then helped us pick up our luggage, and ran up again! ! ! The service was so good that our whole family was stunned! ! Entering the hotel, the air conditioning is very good, because the outside is -10 degrees, but the interior is very warm, and not baked, so very comfortable, the room is not big, but with all the traditional Japanese room things, the furnishings are very beautiful, However, if the luggage is larger and more, it becomes very crowded, but actually feels like home. Because one night two meals, so there is a full dinner breakfast, are exquisite kaiseki cuisine, each meal also have staff to the room in advance to lead us to the restaurant, their own room, no one disturbed. The hot spring area has indoor and outdoor, not big, but enough, we soaked twice and did not bump into anyone, chartered, great! ! After check out, the staff bowed to not see our car! ! There is a traditional Japanese etiquette! ! ! We will definitely come back to experience this one! ! !

I had a great stay at this hotel. The room was spacious and included two bottles of water, coffee, and tea. While the view overlooked a blank space behind the building, the quality of the bed and pillows was excellent. I found the bathroom to be slightly larger than expected. The reception area was spacious, and the staff were friendly and spoke English, which made communication easy. There were two breakfast options available: Western and Japanese. I personally chose the Japanese breakfast, priced at 3,000 Yen. The quality and portion were good. The hotel is conveniently located within a 10-minute walk from Otaru JR Station, as well as Sakaimachi Hondori Street and Otaru Canal. Additionally, there is a convenience store directly across the street, along with several night restaurants. I did find the price a bit high, possibly due to the Otaru Snow Light Path Festival taking place during my stay. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for its comfort and location.

It was a cute boutique hotel with nice bonus facilities! Room is nicely designed and functional, with warm colors feel homey and comfy. Too bad we didn’t get the bath tub room as they were fully booked. Views from the window is mountaneous area, very nice! Bed and pillows are comfortable. Surface area for stuff are generous and practical, even enough space for sofa. Too bad they don’t give free coffee or at least instant coffee, only tea. No onsen. Music box night was awesome! Feels like a romantic dinner setting, but the smell of lamp oil was too much, gave me headache so I couldn’t stay for long, even though I would love to support the hotels and all of the polite and friendly staff by dining there. Staff are wonderful, smiles and polite and professional! During this trip we felt like Japanese staff in general are becoming a bit cold toward tourists but this hotel’s staff are not like that! We appreciate you guys. Thank you!
