For the majority of travelers heading to Pasadena, Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) is the most efficient choice, offering the fastest access and lower costs compared to others, as it is located in a nearby city rather than Pasadena itself. John Wayne Airport (SNA) and Ontario International Airport (ONT) serve as significant alternatives in the region, but they are located in neighboring cities and require longer transit times. Van Nuys Airport (VNY) primarily handles private aviation in a nearby city, making it a niche choice for specific travelers. Finally, McClellan-Palomar Airport (CLD) is a distant facility in a neighboring city, best reserved for those already in the San Diego area or seeking highly specific connections. Travelers should prioritize location over flight fare, as ground transport costs from distant airports can quickly offset cheaper air tickets. Always check real-time traffic conditions, especially when choosing rideshare services, as highway congestion in the region is a frequent factor affecting travel times.

Breakfast in room, a $70 breakfast, they charged $6 for delivery, then added a 20% service charge, and topped it off with a $22 tip (the first two items weren't displayed when I signed for the tip). It seems like moving the breakfast from the kitchen to the room incurred three separate fees, adding over 40% to the bill just to get it done.

The surroundings are very clean and tidy. The room facilities are decent, pretty much complete with a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The service was alright. The mountain view room we booked also offered a view of the mountains.

We stayed two nights to watch the NBA game. The hotel was beautiful, perfect for taking pictures. The staff were also superb. Pasadena is such a great neighborhood; the city hall is very close and it's gorgeous – I highly recommend walking there. The surrounding area is safe, with three subway stations nearby. We originally planned to take the subway to the Lakers game, but now we'll have to take Uber. However, we took the subway back after the game, and it was safe even after 11 pm. The only downside was a leaf shop downstairs, but it closes at 10 pm, so it wasn't a major issue.

I like the location of the Green Tree, which is near the Del Mar metro station in Pasadena, and convenient for getting to JPL or Caltech. The staff are friendly, the hotel is clean, and they have a nice bowl of fresh fruit available at the check-in. However, I have two quibbles. First, I found the billing to be perplexing. Online travel agencies said I would be charged an extra $5 on site, but in fact I was charged an extra $12.20 (+ a $100 deposit which has not yet been credited back to me). Since I was traveling for work, I needed a $0 balance receipt to document that charge, and the reception staff were unable to provide an appropriate receipt. Second, the room was cold, with air-conditioning set to 64 F when I arrived. I turned off the air conditioning, but I was cold in bed and unable to find a blanket or extra layer. If I stay again, I guess I'll bring my own blankets and will try to book differently (perhaps directly through the hotel) in hopes of getting a receipt that my travel reimbursement folks can process.

Located in Old Town Pasadena, the hotel is within walking distance of various restaurants and shops, including popular brands like Arc'teryx and Lululemon. Be aware that clothing stores tend to close quite early. It's less than a 20-minute drive to Trader Joe's and Costco, and about half an hour to downtown Los Angeles, Universal Studios, the Natural History Museum, and the California Science Center. There are homeless people in Old Town, but they generally keep to themselves, are not aggressive, and won't bother you. The hotel facilities are decent. They provide bath towels and soap, an ice bucket, a coffee maker, and a mini-fridge, but no electric kettle. Also, note that American mineral water bottle openings are different from those in China, so if you're bringing an instant portable hot water dispenser, be aware of this. Basic housekeeping is done daily, and bath towels are replaced every day. Parking is $35 a day; you get a code for in/out access, and the charge is added to your bill at checkout. If you plan to be out early and back late, nearby public parking lots are a very close and cheaper alternative at $12 a day. Service is typical American style: polite, but not particularly attentive. The billing process was a bit confusing, but there were no actual errors in the charges. Ctrip's follow-up service, however, deserves praise. Finally, a correction regarding Ctrip's information: children aged 12 and above are charged full price for breakfast, which is $20 per person. The breakfast quality is actually quite good, offering excellent value for money, especially for California. Oatmeal is also available. P.S. Definitely avoid buying water from the front desk – it's outrageously expensive at $4 a bottle. You can get it much cheaper at the gas station next door, or drive 10-15 minutes to Costco to grab a case.

We are utterly smitten with Hotel Dena - it has exceeded all our expectations for an artistic, pristine, and laid-back boutique hotel. The hotel was freshly renovated just last year, so every single amenity and piece of equipment is impressively modern. We were arranged in a first-floor ”small loft” room complete with a private balcony - undoubtedly one of the highlights of our entire trip. The hotel's decor is nothing short of captivating, with a cinematic ambiance evident throughout the common areas. From the impeccably styled furniture to the mesmerizing artwork and paintings, every design element contributes to an utterly enchanting atmosphere. In fact, I would unhesitatingly award Dena a rating of 6 out of 5 stars to fully convey my deep adoration for this establishment. If we're ever blessed with the opportunity to visit Los Angeles again, Dena will unquestionably be our top choice. 🌹🌹🌹

A very beautiful big house, it feels more like an airbnb homestay, not like a hotel, but it feels very special. The house is located in the wealthy area on the mountain. It is very luxurious. It is said that this house has a history of nearly 50 years, and the floor is covered. The patina is out. Usually when there are no guests, there will be a lot of sexy internet celebrities to pose for photos. The owner of the grandfather was very nice. He prepared breakfast for us in the morning. He knew that we were Chinese and would help us cook dumplings, watch TV on the cctv channel, recommend tourist routes, etc. He was very very enthusiastic and made us all embarrassed, toilet The two rooms are shared, but there is no one next door on the day we stayed, so it is equivalent to a private toilet. It's really great 👍

The hotel is located in a relatively new area of Pasadena. The Urth coffee shop across the street is quite nice; you can have breakfast there. Valet parking is $50 per night, but there's a public parking lot right next door for only $25 per night, which is very convenient. The rooftop bar has a great atmosphere; you can also have a drink downstairs in the evening. The rooms are relatively small but very new, similar to hotels in China.

The hotel is in a great location. Pasadena is the old wealthy area of LA, with good public security and beautiful scenery. The hotel is located right in the old city center. You can check in the beautiful scenery of Pasadena in ten minutes. You can see St. Andrew's Cathedral when you open the window. It is not too far from LA attractions. The airport is 30-40 minutes away by car without traffic jams, and Universal Studios is only 20 minutes away by car.

It's more like a motel, located in a very remote area. However, the price is not cheap. The room cleanliness is so-so. It has two floors, the refrigerator looks old, and the room is very dark. It's not worth the price compared to what Ctrip charges.
