What a gem, amazing value for money, possibly the best place I've stayed in my 4 months in Thailand. The buffet breakfast is gorgeous, the coconut curry and the variety. Spotless spacious rooms, super comfy, excellent ensuite bathroom, free bicycles, welcoming receptionists, attentive service, so easy to find and just minutes walk from the lake. They even let me check in early. No ants/bugs which is a welcome surprise in Thailand, not a sound, I had the best sleep, AC/kettle/fridge etc all provided, 7eleven 3 mins walk, restaurants, night market, all just minutes away. I love Phayao too, so pretty and peaceful, will definitely visit againFromUS$13

However, breakfast is a la carte, so you have to wait in line for a long time, which delays your next trip. The staff arranged the food in a different order. The bedding is average, and I found bugs when I was about to leave. Moreover, many hotels in Thailand now do not place amenities, so it is recommended to bring your own or go to 711 to buy. The hotel is a bit old, but the location is excellent. This time I stayed in a Junior Suite on the 10th floor. The room was spacious, lovely, and had a fantastic view. All the amenities were there, but the carpeted floor was a bit dusty. If you're concerned about dust, I recommend booking a room with non-carpeted flooring, like those on the 9th floor, which are newly renovated. Even with many other options, and this place being a little older, if you're looking for a high and beautiful view, a swimming pool, and a good fitness center, this place still beats the others.FromUS$21
