After visiting Jiuhua Mountain, we chose to stay in the county town, and this is probably the best hotel there. The location is very convenient, with a food street right behind the hotel. We were lucky enough to get an upgrade, and our room's balcony offered a view of the lake across the way. There were even fireworks nearby at night 🎆. The hotel is in the mountains, the environment and air are great, quiet. The room with a terrace is very comfortable for sunbathing and drinking tea. It is about half an hour away from the county town. The hotel has a road leading to the mountaintop observation deck, which is not open, but you can climb up to see the scenery, and almost no one walks. There are bamboo forests on both sides, and there are many wild animals, such as four-legged snakes and pheasants, which are very interesting. I chose the family room at Yuanhang Hotel based on Ctrip reviews and its proximity to the Cultural Park. The room itself was decent.
However, the hotel seemed to have very few guests, resulting in no air conditioning in common areas like the lobby and corridors. It was sweltering hot the moment you stepped out of your room. Additionally, our room was quite a distance from the elevator, and we'd be drenched in sweat just walking there.
While I can understand conserving electricity due to low occupancy, the entire hotel felt deserted. Breakfast was also very subpar, with one of the salted duck eggs even being spoiled.
The only redeeming quality was the Chinese restaurant, which offered good food and generous portions.
Despite the staff being very friendly, the overall state of the hotel's facilities severely impacted our stay, making for an unpleasant experience.
I had initially hoped to walk to the Cultural Park, but it was too hot, so we ended up taking a taxi for a flat rate of 10 RMB. This effectively negated the benefit of the hotel's location for walking.
I believe this hotel might be more suitable for guests visiting Mount Jiuhua who prioritize being close to the visitor center.FromUS$57

First of all, the hotel's location is excellent, right next to the ticket gate, and across the street from the core temple complex of Jiuhua Mountain. The temples are just steps away, making worshipping Buddha incredibly convenient! There's a direct bus to Huatai right outside the hotel, and the shuttle bus stop is just a minute or two's walk uphill, making it perfect for families with children and elderly members—no walking required.
I must commend the hotel front desk staff on the morning of May 4th. When I checked out that morning, I left my jacket with my car keys in my room. I had already boarded the shuttle bus to Huatai, so I immediately called the front desk. The staff promptly went to my room, found my jacket and car keys, and placed them on the next shuttle bus to Huatai. I'm so grateful!!!FromUS$107
